ContactsPlus Opt Out: Remove Your Number From Caller ID

Use the Contacts+ caller ID removal email, then separate wider deletion and account requests. See required details, source limits, and follow-up checks.

To opt out of ContactsPlus caller ID, the official Contacts+ help article directs you to email privacy@contactsplus.com. Use the subject “Remove my number from Caller ID” and put your full phone number, including country code, in the message.

For wider data-rights requests, the current privacy notice also provides support@contactsplus.com. State the scope clearly rather than assuming one caller-ID request closes an account.

Sources were checked on October 19, 2026. Direct access to the help article was challenged, but its official text was readable through a reader fallback. The current privacy notice was accessible. We did not send a request, test inbox delivery or confirm a deletion outcome.

Caller-ID removal or wider data deletion?

ContactsPlus describes contact-management and enrichment features. You may be concerned about a caller-ID entry, information in its database, or contacts you previously synchronized through an account. These concerns can overlap, but they should not be collapsed into one ambiguous instruction to delete everything.

ConcernFirst routeWhat to confirm
Caller-ID numberprivacy@contactsplus.comSpecific number and database scope
Wider personal-data rightssupport@contactsplus.comVerification and retained data
Account or synchronized contactsAccount supportEffect on access and connected services

The official caller-ID removal article gives a short, specific email procedure. Its November 2021 update date is older than our source check. We have not inferred an undocumented phone-verification flow or a removal deadline from that page.

If you are cleaning up several sites, start a separate line for this service in your opt-out workflow. ContactsPlus instructions should not be replaced with steps for another provider just because both deal with contact information. A matching name in two databases does not prove they share the same request system.

Send the caller-ID email

Use the documented subject and number

Write to privacy@contactsplus.com with the subject specified above. Include the complete number and country code in the body.

Avoid relying on an email signature that only contains a local-format number. State that you want that number removed from the Contacts+ caller-ID database.

You can add a short request for acknowledgement and confirmation of the result. This is a practical follow-up request, not an additional requirement published in the help article. Do not state that the company has already verified you or approved removal simply because your email was sent.

Keep other requests explicit

If you also want correction, data deletion or account closure, put each objective on its own line. The current privacy notice directs people to support@contactsplus.com for rights requests and says verification applies. This is a useful fallback when a narrowly scoped caller-ID request does not address your wider concern.

At the time of our check, the linked Own Your Data route returned 404. The notice's email remained available. If you encounter the same broken route, refer to the notice and use its contact option rather than entering personal details into an unrelated form found through a search result.

Protect your address book during the request

A phone-number removal request should not need your entire synchronized contact list as an initial attachment. Send only the details necessary to identify the number or disputed record. If support needs more evidence, ask which fields are necessary and whether irrelevant details can be withheld.

  • Check the official article and current notice before writing.
  • Include the correct country code and the caller-ID subject.
  • Separate unlisting, wider deletion and account questions.
  • Save the sent message, reply and any request reference.

For a display problem, record the app or screen where the number appears. If you share an example, crop it to the relevant information. Avoid including other people's numbers, messages or workplace records in a screenshot of a personal privacy request.

Timing and identity verification

The short caller-ID article does not specify a completion time. The privacy notice separately describes response periods of one month for GDPR requests or 45 days for CCPA requests. These are provider statements for rights handling, not a universal deadline for every caller-ID record or a measured result from our research.

Ask the company which request category it has recorded and what happens next. If a verification message arrives, check that it belongs to the request you initiated. A generic identity-document demand from an unexpected sender should not be treated as automatically necessary just because you recently wrote to support.

Keep acknowledgement, verification and completion distinct in your log. An acknowledgement may only show that a ticket exists. A response requesting more information means a step remains. A message confirming a specific database action provides stronger evidence, but still deserves a check against the original visible problem.

If you receive no reply, follow up in the same thread and include the original date. Check for a delivery failure and confirm the address against the current official source. Do not reset your expectations by sending multiple slightly different requests without tracking which one is active.

Check what changed and what remains

After the company confirms caller-ID removal, revisit the same accessible caller-ID surface. Record what is now shown and when you checked. If a name remains in your own phone's saved contacts, distinguish that local entry from a server-supplied caller label before reporting a failed database removal.

The privacy notice says deletion can involve hiding information to prevent re-entry and describes limited retention. A hidden record and a fully erased record are not interchangeable outcomes. Ask for a plain-language explanation if that difference matters to your request. Do not infer that a suppressed public result proves all backups have been erased.

If the problem concerns information in a different service, use that service's process. The FullContact guide owns a separate removal workflow. This guide does not claim that a ContactsPlus request reaches FullContact or that either operator processes requests for the other.

Reappearance can also reflect a fresh public source, an old downstream copy, or an unresolved local display. Compare the location and content of the new result with your saved evidence. The right next action depends on which layer still exposes the information, rather than whether your name can be found somewhere online.

Broader cleanup without losing useful contacts

Before closing a contact-management account, consider whether you still need an export or access to shared business records. Account closure can affect an ongoing workflow, whereas caller-ID unlisting is a narrower request. Confirm the product-specific consequences with support rather than assuming the two actions are equivalent.

For other public number listings, use the phone-number removal checklist. Keep each destination and response separate. This is especially useful if a business and personal number appear under the same name, since the intended change may differ for each number.

A free data broker scan can identify other exposure to investigate. This article does not verify that a paid service handles ContactsPlus caller-ID requests for you. Evaluate coverage at the specific-site level before delegating a request, and keep the direct email route available if manual handling is needed.

If your concern is future signups rather than an existing listing, the email and phone alias comparison explains a different privacy choice. An alias does not retrospectively remove a number already supplied to a contact database. Use it only where it fits your ongoing communication needs.

If the same number appears in Drupe, use the Drupe removal form guide for that separate request. An email acknowledgement from ContactsPlus does not confirm a change in another caller-ID service.

Frequently asked questions

Is the old caller-ID article still useful?

It remains an official published instruction and was readable during our check. Its age and the direct-browser challenge are disclosed here. Recheck the source and use the current privacy notice for a broader contact route if the narrow request stalls.

Does removing a saved contact opt that person out?

Deleting a local or synchronized address-book entry does not establish that a separate caller-ID database has been updated. Use the published request for the number concerned and avoid making requests for people without appropriate authority.

Does the guide prove that an email request succeeds?

No. It verifies the published route and its required details, not delivery, processing or a particular outcome. Keep confirmation and independently check the visible result after the operator responds.

Should I use the broken Own Your Data page?

If it still returns an error, use the email in the current privacy notice and describe the failed route. A 404 page is not a completed request. Avoid submitting the same information through unrelated third-party forms.
