Irys Opt Out Guide: Location Data and Advertising IDs
Follow the Irys opt out portal or privacy email, choose erasure or sale opt-out, check advertising-ID fields, and understand confirmation limits.

To opt out of Irys, use the privacy portal linked from its Do Not Sell page or email privacy@irys.us. The portal requires an email address, a request type and an advertising ID.
Choose erasure or sale opt-out according to your goal, and identify the device involved. Irys publishes a one-business-day confirmation statement for its device-email route; we have not measured that result.

Use Irys official request instructions as the starting point. The instructions and public evidence were checked September 10, 2026. No consumer request was submitted, so this guide reports the documented process rather than a tested removal result.
How to submit your Irys request
Official route: Irys-linked privacy request portal
- Open Irys’s Do Not Sell page and follow its Privacy Portal link. Check that the destination identifies Irys before entering personal data. The portal uses a service-provider domain linked directly by Irys.
- Choose the action from the request-type menu. Erasure and Opt-out of Sales are separate choices; if you need both, ask how to record both actions rather than assuming one automatically includes the other.
- Provide the required email and advertising ID. First and last name, country and state/region are also visible, but the current screen marks email and advertising ID as required. Use accurate matching information for your own device.
- Complete the public human-verification step yourself and review the request before submission. Save the confirmation if one is provided. No request was submitted as part of this guide’s research.
- If the portal is inaccessible or you need clarification, email privacy@irys.us. Identify the relevant advertising ID and desired action, then retain the response that explains what was removed, suppressed or otherwise handled.
Choose the scope before sending personal information
- Erasure: requests deletion within the applicable scope; clarify any exceptions or retention in the response.
- Opt-out of Sales: addresses sale of personal data and is listed separately from erasure in the portal.
- Sensitive information: the portal includes a limiting-sensitive-information option. Ask how it applies to the location data that concerns you.
- Access or other rights: the public policy describes additional options, while the portal menu offers several specific rights. Ask the privacy contact if the action you need is not clear.
Write down the outcome you want before starting. A useful request identifies the relevant record and states whether you want a disclosure stopped, a field corrected, or stored information deleted. If several actions matter, list them separately and ask the provider to confirm the disposition of each one.
Use identifiers tied to the record rather than a large bundle of personal documents. A name alone may match another person, while an unrelated address can confuse the request. Supply the minimum accurate details needed for the particular workflow, then respond to any explained verification step.
What the provider controls
Irys describes a geolocation-data business using information supplied by partners. Its policy lists advertising identifiers alongside timestamps and location information. A conventional name search cannot establish whether a device is present in this type of dataset.
The Do Not Sell page is dated January 17, 2025, and the general privacy statement January 19, 2025. They were still the public sources on September 10, 2026. The article reports their current availability without pretending they were newly authored today.
The linked portal shows an Advertising ID field and several request types. The email alternative is explicitly listed on Irys’s own page. We verified these routes but did not test how the company authenticates a submitted request or handles a completed case.
The provider’s older ID-retrieval instructions mention third-party apps. Those apps were not tested here. Do not install an unknown app solely to satisfy an old instruction; ask the privacy team how to proceed if the identifier is unavailable.
Verification and processing: what to keep
Portal requires email, request type and advertising ID; name, country and region also appear.
One-business-day device-removal confirmation is provider wording for the email route, not a measured universal deadline.
Retain the submission date, the contact address or form URL, the identifiers used, and any case number. Keep the provider’s acknowledgement separate from its completion response. An automatic email that says a case was received does not establish that the record was removed or that every requested action was accepted.
When the provider asks for more information, check that the message belongs to the case you opened. Ask what is missing and how to supply it securely. Do not repeatedly send unrelated documents to multiple addresses. A precise reply in the existing thread usually makes the record easier to follow.
Reappearance and follow-up checks
Resetting an advertising ID or using another device can produce a different match. Data suppliers and recipients may have independent records, so an Irys confirmation does not establish that the original app or every downstream company has deleted data.
Recheck the same record or environment first. Compare its identifying details with the request you submitted. A different email, employer, profile URL, or browser preference may explain why the later result is outside the original match. Ask the provider to clarify before describing the entire process as unsuccessful.
A practical privacy log can be brief: provider, relevant record, requested action, submission date, confirmation, and next check. Choose a reminder based on the response you receive. If no completion date is given, ask for one instead of treating a historical average or another provider’s deadline as a promise.
Connect this request to the next useful cleanup
Use the data broker opt-out list to track other providers and the opt-out topic hub to find current instructions. The broader manual data broker removal guide explains how to organize a multi-provider cleanup.
Relevant follow-up workflows are Foursquare privacy requests, Fog Data Science device opt-out, and Unacast location-data requests. Use each only when it matches a separate exposure; one provider’s confirmation does not serve as proof about another database.
For wider exposure checks, run a free broker scan. If recurring follow-up would help, compare the scope and cadence of services in the data removal comparison hub. A scan is a starting point, not proof that every private database was searched.
Irys opt out FAQ
Why does the form ask for an advertising ID?
Irys’s policy describes location data linked to device advertising identifiers. The portal requires that identifier to identify the device involved. A name or phone number is not an interchangeable replacement.
Is a one-day removal guaranteed?
The Do Not Sell page says it will confirm device removal within one business day after an advertising-ID email. We did not submit or measure a request. Keep this statement separate from a universal portal deadline or proof about every recipient.
Can I request deletion and stop sales?
They appear as distinct portal request types. If you want both, make that explicit in your communication and ask whether separate requests are needed. Retain the provider’s answer for each action.
What if I cannot find my advertising ID?
Ask privacy@irys.us about an alternative matching process. Do not send a made-up identifier or assume a device serial number is equivalent. The older app suggestions were not tested for this guide.
Will deleting an app remove Irys’s stored data?
Deleting an app and requesting deletion from a separate data recipient are different actions. Review the app’s permissions and contact the relevant data holder. A completed request to one business is not evidence about another.
Sources and verification notes
Irys official request instructions and the official privacy policy were checked on September 10, 2026. Screenshots document public instructions only. Request timing, eligibility, exceptions, and identity checks remain subject to the provider’s current process.
These are practical instructions based on the cited provider material, not an individual legal assessment. If a request is denied, keep the reason and consult the relevant regulator’s official guidance for your location. Do not assume that a request available in one jurisdiction has identical terms everywhere.
