Preqin Opt Out: BlackRock Contact and Data Removal Steps
Request a Preqin opt-out through BlackRock’s privacy contact. Separate professional-data sales, cookie settings, deletion and verification steps.

To opt out of Preqin's non-cookie sale of personal information, email GroupPrivacy@BlackRock.com and identify the Preqin record. Its current privacy notice explicitly provides this route. Ask separately for deletion or correction if needed.
Turning off advertising cookies does not, by itself, address a business-professional entry in a subscription database.
We checked Preqin's official privacy notice in a browser on October 23, 2026. The notice identifies Preqin within the BlackRock group and explains the privacy contact route. A linked data-rights page rendered no usable form during our check. We therefore describe the published email route, not an unverified form submission.
Identify the Preqin data and the action you want
Preqin's notice describes the sale of identification, contact and professional information to database customers. It also covers other relationships, including customers, website visitors and suppliers. Start by deciding whether your concern is a professional record, marketing correspondence, an account or browser-based advertising.
A professional listing may connect your name with a fund, employer or investment role. Include enough context to distinguish you from another person with a similar name. Do not attach portfolio documents, client lists or investment statements merely to describe a public professional profile.
| Your concern | Request route | Separate task |
|---|---|---|
| Professional data sold to subscribers | GroupPrivacy@BlackRock.com | Specify Preqin and the record |
| Deletion or correction | Same privacy contact | State the relevant right and fields |
| Marketing messages | Message opt-out or privacy contact | Do not assume database removal |
| Browser advertising | Cookie controls described in the notice | Does not replace non-cookie sale opt-out |
The Preqin privacy notice is the starting source. It tells readers to use the BlackRock email for sales other than browser advertising choices. This is why an old standalone contact from a third-party guide should not take precedence over the current notice.
Write the request and keep sensitive material out

Use a clear subject such as “Preqin personal information opt-out request.” Say how your information relates to Preqin and which action you want. If you also want an access response, consider whether receiving a copy of the data is useful before requesting deletion. You can ask the team how it handles combined requests.
- Identify the professional name and email or other identifier that appears in the record.
- Add the company, role or profile URL that helps the team locate the correct entry.
- State your country or state and request the applicable non-cookie sale opt-out.
- Request deletion, correction or restriction separately when that addresses the problem.
- Ask for a reference number, the response timeframe and an explanation of any retained information.
Suggested wording: “This request concerns my personal information in Preqin's professional database. Please apply the sale opt-out available to me and review my request to delete information that you are not required to retain. Please confirm the records and processing covered by your response.” This is a drafting aid, not a legal form.
BlackRock's notice cautions against sending personal information over unsecured channels. Keep the initial email minimal and ask for a secure way to supply any additional verification evidence. Do not send passport scans, financial records or extensive employment history merely because the business operates in financial markets.
Verification, agents and processing limits
The notice says the privacy team may need information to verify identity and locate the data. It may ask about the nature and location of your relationship with the group. That makes it useful to name Preqin directly, rather than submitting a vague request concerning every BlackRock service.
Authorized agents may need written proof of authority, and the person concerned may need to confirm authorization or identity directly. Do not assume that an employer, family member or subscription service can act without permission. Ask the provider how to submit authorization through its current secure process.
Preqin commits to responding within applicable legal timescales rather than publishing one universal number of days for every request. Record the deadline the team provides. A reply seeking verification is an intermediate step, so retain it alongside your original request and answer only after checking that it belongs to the same case.
Deletion can be limited by retention obligations or another valid reason to process data. If the response is partial, ask which data remains and why. The notice also offers an appeal route where applicable: email the privacy contact with “Appeal” in the subject. Explain the disputed decision and cite the existing reference.
Check the result and handle later exposure
Keep the request date, the route used, your reference number and the exact records you asked about in a private note. Mark the request as submitted until you receive a substantive answer. An automated acknowledgement only shows receipt; it does not establish that a record was deleted or that an opt-out applies to every product.
Read the response for its scope. A useful answer tells you whether the company found matching information, what action it took and whether it retained anything for a stated reason. If the reply says no matching data was found, compare the name, employer and email you supplied with the record you originally saw. Explain a mismatch without sending a complete personal history.
Recheck a known profile or source after the company reports completion. If the information is behind a subscription, ask the privacy team to confirm the relevant product and identifiers instead of paying for access just to inspect your own record. A missing public search result is encouraging, but it cannot establish what exists in a private database.
If the same information appears later, keep the new URL and observation date. Ask whether it is a new record, a retained record or a copy held by another organization. These are possible explanations to investigate, not a claim that Preqin routinely ignores requests. A confirmation from one company does not prove removal from every recipient.
For wider exposure, use our multi-broker removal checklist to track each controller separately. The data broker directory helps identify other routes, while the opt-out guide hub groups the detailed instructions.
For other professional datasets, the PitchBook opt-out guide covers its separate Morningstar route. The CB Insights opt-out guide is relevant if that platform also holds a profile. Neither request should be assumed to update Preqin.
A free privacy scan can help you look for additional people-search exposure. It is a starting point for broader cleanup, not proof that this particular professional database has been checked or that a privacy request succeeded. Verify any paid service's current coverage before relying on it for a named source.
Preqin opt-out questions
Why does the privacy email use BlackRock's domain?
Preqin's current official notice identifies the BlackRock group and expressly supplies GroupPrivacy@BlackRock.com for the relevant requests. Use the current notice to verify that relationship instead of assuming the domain difference means the address is unofficial.
Is the cookie banner enough?
Not for the non-cookie database sale addressed here. The notice separates advertising controls from other sales and directs the latter to the privacy email. If you want both, use the appropriate route for each and keep separate confirmations.
Can I use the telephone instead?
The notice lists +1 855 371 0019 for residents of certain U.S. states. Confirm that this applies to your circumstances.
If you call, make a private note of the date and reference, and request written confirmation of the action rather than relying only on a conversation.
What if I no longer have the listed work email?
Explain that the record contains an old address and ask for another matching or verification method. Do not claim to own a mailbox you cannot access. A profile link, company name and former role can help describe the record without implying that verification is complete.
Does an opt-out erase all investment information?
No universal erasure outcome is established. Your personal privacy request is different from deletion of company, fund or transaction research. Ask the team to distinguish personal fields, retained information and independently held customer records in its response.
Sources and checking limits
The official Preqin privacy notice was checked on October 23, 2026, including its rights, retention, verification and contact sections. The linked form was not usable in our browser, but the notice's email route was explicit. No email, telephone call or request was submitted. Follow-up suggestions describe a practical workflow, not a tested service result.
