SMARTe Opt Out: Business Database and Extension Requests
Opt out of SMARTe’s business-contact database using its form or privacy email. Keep extension data, verification and customer copies separate.

To opt out of SMARTe's business-contact database, use its official unsubscribe form or email privacy@smarteprivacy.com.
The public form asks for an email address. If your concern is data held about your use of the SMARTe Prospector extension, the policy gives a separate email instruction with the subject “Extension Data Request.” This SMARTe opt out guide keeps those two workflows distinct.
We checked the English policy and opened the unsubscribe form on October 29, 2026. We did not enter an address, submit a request, log in or measure a completed removal. The form screenshot shows an available starting route, not proof of what happens after submission.
Identify which SMARTe data you want addressed
The official English privacy policy distinguishes the business-contact database from data associated with the browser extension. A person appearing in a sales database may never have installed the extension. An extension user may have account and usage information that is separate from a contact record offered through the service.
| Your relationship | Starting action | Important distinction |
|---|---|---|
| Your business contact appears in the database | Official unsubscribe form or privacy email | Database opt-out, not merely newsletter unsubscribe |
| You use the Prospector extension | Email with Extension Data Request subject | Server-held personal data differs from local extension storage |
| You want to stop using the extension | Sign out or uninstall as appropriate | Does not by itself establish deletion of server-held records |
| A customer contacted you using downloaded information | Ask that customer about its own record | A SMARTe request does not establish that recipient copies disappeared |
Start with the relationship that describes you accurately. If more than one applies, describe both and ask for separate confirmation of the requested actions. It is better to make the scope explicit than to assume an email unsubscribe clears every category associated with the same address.
The policy also distinguishes SMARTe's own master database from information processed for users. If a reply refers you to a customer, ask which records that referral covers. Our general broker removal guide can help you maintain a separate request history for each responsible organization.
Use the public database unsubscribe route

The official unsubscribe page displayed an email field and an Unsubscribe button. The email field was required. We saw no public profile-URL field in this initial screen, so finding or buying a searchable profile is not a prerequisite shown by that interface.
Use the address relevant to the business-contact record. If the issue concerns a former work address that you no longer control, do not claim that you can receive its verification messages. Explain that situation through the privacy email and ask how the provider can match the record safely.
- Open the unsubscribe page from the current official policy.
- Check that you are on the SMARTe privacy domain before entering an identifier.
- Use the email address associated with the contact record when appropriate.
- Submit only when you are ready to make the request for yourself or have authority to act.
- Follow any confirmation or verification instructions the provider sends.
- Keep the final response and ask whether it concerns database suppression, deletion, or another action.
We did not submit the form, so this guide does not claim that a particular confirmation email always arrives or that a second click completes the process. Those later steps must be read from the actual response. If nothing arrives, check your inbox and spam folder and then use the official privacy contact for clarification.
You can also email privacy@smarteprivacy.com directly.
State that you want your business-contact record removed or opted out of the SMARTe database. Explain any old-email or employer-name mismatch without attaching unrelated identity documents. Ask what information is necessary if the provider cannot find the record from the identifier supplied.
If your professional details also appear elsewhere, the ZoomInfo guide and Apollo.io guide cover separate request processes. Their inclusion here does not mean those services share a particular record about you. Follow up only where there is relevant evidence of exposure.
Handle extension data separately
The extension section says signing out clears the session token from the device, while uninstalling removes data stored locally by the extension. These device actions do not establish that every server-side account or database record has been erased. Treat them as local controls with a specific scope.
For access, correction, export or deletion of personal data held about extension use, the policy directs users to the privacy email with “Extension Data Request” in the subject. Explain which action you want and which account or interaction it concerns. The provider may need to verify the request before responding.
The policy states a 30-day response period in this extension section, subject to applicable requirements. We did not verify a blanket 30-day completion promise for every business-database opt-out. Keep the quoted timeline attached to the workflow it describes rather than applying it to every SMARTe record.
If your employer administers the extension or service account, distinguish your personal request from the employer's administrative controls. You should not need to impersonate an account administrator to ask about your own personal information. Ask the privacy team which organization controls the particular category you want addressed.
Removing a browser extension can also change how you access receipts or account information. Save the request reference and any relevant support instructions before closing a session you may need for follow-up. Do not export colleagues' records as evidence of your own request.
Verify the response and resolve mismatches
A useful response identifies the request, the matched record and the action taken or reason it could not be completed. “Unsubscribed” can be ambiguous without context. Ask whether it refers to the business database, marketing communications, extension data or a specific account setting.
Keep the initial request, any verification message and the substantive answer together. If the provider cannot locate a record, compare the identifiers with the information that prompted your concern. A changed employer, an old email or a name variant can require clarification, but do not send an entire employment history without a reason.
If the request is partly fulfilled, ask which categories remain and why. A retention explanation and an identity-matching problem are different outcomes. Your follow-up should address the actual explanation rather than repeatedly submitting the same form and expecting a broader result.
No removal service or guide can establish the contents of a private business database merely by checking Google. The lack of a public profile is not proof that SMARTe holds no information. Conversely, a search result can be stale or belong to another source. Keep provider responses and public visibility checks as separate forms of evidence.
Reduce renewed exposure and separate customer copies
Professional contact information changes frequently: job moves, new company pages and newly published contact details can create additional source material. When information returns, compare the new record with the original identifiers and the scope of the earlier response. Ask whether an existing suppression preference applies to the updated record.
If a sales message continues after a SMARTe response, identify the sender and ask about that organization's contact preference. The sender may have saved an earlier record or obtained information elsewhere. A request to one database does not establish that every recipient has retracted a prior copy.
Public professional pages may also be a source you can control directly. Review whether a personal phone number is unnecessarily displayed in a business biography or directory. Changing that source does not replace a database request, but it can reduce the amount of new material available for later collection.
The data broker opt-out directory is useful for organizing other relevant records. For broader public exposure, a free privacy scan can provide another discovery step. It does not certify SMARTe coverage, inspect private customer accounts or prove that a database request succeeded.
Use the opt-out guide hub when you need another provider's manual route. Keep the request scope specific to the company involved. A single shared privacy concern can require several different actions without any one company controlling all the copies.
Frequently asked questions
Must I have a SMARTe account to use the public unsubscribe page?
The page we inspected showed a required email field and an Unsubscribe button without a login screen. We did not submit it or verify later steps. If you receive an account requirement afterward, ask the privacy team how it applies to a database contact who is not a customer.
What if I no longer have my old work email?
Explain that to the official privacy contact and ask for an alternative matching process. Do not try to access a former employer's inbox without permission. Provide only the additional identifiers needed to distinguish your record safely.
Does uninstalling Prospector remove me from the contact database?
The policy describes uninstalling as removing locally stored extension data. It separately gives a database opt-out route. If both categories concern you, make the database request and the extension-data request explicit rather than assuming one action performs both.
Will a customer stop contacting me immediately?
A SMARTe request does not prove what happened to a customer's previously obtained copy. Use the sender's legitimate unsubscribe or privacy channel as well. Preserve the message details needed to identify the sender without replying to suspicious links or requests.
Can I treat the extension's 30-day wording as a guaranteed database deadline?
No such general conclusion was established by our review. The statement appears in the extension-data instructions. Ask the provider which timeline applies to your actual database request and keep any acknowledgement or extension notice.
