Windfall Opt Out: Request Deletion and Stop Data Sales
Use Windfall’s privacy choices and request portal to opt out or ask for deletion. Understand address matching, identity checks, and customer-data limits.

To opt out of Windfall's sale of your information, start at its Your Privacy Choices page and use the linked request route. For deletion, choose the deletion request in the provider-linked portal. Windfall says its records are organized by name and address, so accurate address details matter when it matches your request.
A request to Windfall covers its own databases, not every separate database maintained by its customers. We checked the privacy notice, choices page and blank deletion form on October 1, 2026. We did not submit a consumer request or measure how long a removal took.

Check that you have the right Windfall
This guide concerns Windfall at windfall.com. Its privacy policy explains the information and services covered by that company. Check the domain before using a form, particularly when a search result refers to another business with a similar name.
The Your Privacy Choices page distinguishes a sale opt-out, targeted-advertising choices and requests to access, correct or delete information. Your residence and the applicable law can affect available rights. The page is not a promise that every request from every location receives the same outcome.
| Goal | Where to start | Scope to confirm |
|---|---|---|
| Stop eligible sale to customers | Your Privacy Choices | Windfall's own databases |
| Request deletion | Linked rights portal, deletion option | Matching, verification and any retained categories |
| Correct inaccurate information | Linked rights portal, correction route | Which record and attribute were corrected |
| Limit website advertising | Cookie choices or supported privacy signal | Browser and device-specific activity |
| Address a customer's separate record | That customer's privacy process | Not automatically covered by Windfall's response |
Prepare the details used for matching
Windfall explains that names alone can refer to several people. Its choices page asks for first and last name, current address and an email address for request updates. Supplying an accurate address helps distinguish your record from someone else's with a similar name.
Use your own current information and do not guess at a record based on another household member. If your concern involves a previous address, explain that through the channel provided for follow-up rather than substituting it without context. A matching problem can delay a request even when the intended privacy action is clear.
The company says information supplied for a request is used to facilitate that request and maintain a legal or compliance record of its response. Therefore, asking for deletion does not necessarily mean the request log itself immediately disappears. Keep that distinction in mind when reading the final reply.
Use the current request portal
1. Follow the official choices page
Start with Windfall's own page, then follow its linked rights form. The provider-linked portal we inspected is hosted by Osano. Starting on the official site helps confirm that a third-party-hosted form is connected to the right company.
Choose the action you need. A sale opt-out limits a particular use or transfer; deletion asks for information to be removed where applicable. Do not interpret a form title as proof that both actions will occur automatically. If you want both, ask how the company records each preference.
2. Enter your name, email and address
After selecting Delete my personal information, the observed form asks for first name, last name and email. It also separates the address into house number, street name, suffix, city, state and ZIP code. Direction and unit fields are available for addresses that need them.
Take care with apartment or unit information so the company can distinguish people sharing a building. The phone field was present but not marked required in our blank-form inspection. Required fields and validation can change, so follow the live form rather than an old screenshot.
3. Review representation and submit your own request
A checkbox covers requests submitted on someone else's behalf. Use it only if you are acting as an authorized representative. Windfall's notice says agents may need signed permission and that the consumer may still have to verify identity or residence directly.
- Confirm the form came from Windfall's official privacy choices page.
- Select the intended request type before adding personal details.
- Match the name and address fields to your actual information.
- Check optional unit details when they help identify your household record.
- Keep the date, acknowledgment and any case reference after submission.
Our inspection stopped at the blank form. We did not test submission validation, a challenge, verification email or the company's final decision. The screenshot establishes which public controls were visible on the check date, not a successful deletion.
What verification and response should you expect?
Windfall says it may need to verify identity and proof of residence before processing a request. If verification fails, the notice says the request will not be processed. Read any follow-up carefully to identify whether the company needs a correction, additional matching information or evidence of authority.
Only provide documentation through a verified official channel. Ask which information is necessary and whether unrelated details can be redacted. A proof-of-residence request should not become an excuse to send account passwords, full payment information or information about other people in your household.
The reviewed pages do not supply one universal completed-deletion deadline. Use any timing stated in your actual acknowledgment and keep the distinction between a response and removal. If a stated date passes, follow up with the original reference and ask what remains outstanding.
The notice lists (800) 946-6710 as a rights contact and describes an appeal route through the privacy choices form where applicable. Those options can help with a stalled or disputed request. We did not call the number or test an appeal outcome.
What remains outside the request?
Windfall explicitly says an opt-out reaches its databases, not databases belonging to other companies, including customers. If a nonprofit, advertiser or other organization already holds your information, its own privacy process may be relevant. Keep each organization's response separate in your records.
Changing website cookie preferences also has a narrower scope. The choices page describes targeted-advertising controls that can depend on the browser or device. That action should not be used as evidence that a name-and-address record was deleted from Windfall's services.
For related but separate provider requests, see the Blackbaud guide and Altrata guide. Similar customer uses do not mean these companies share one removal process. Follow each provider's current instructions only when the request is relevant to your information.
Keep the result and check future exposure
An accepted request may restrict processing, remove a matched record or preserve limited compliance information. Read the response for those distinctions. If a record reappears, the original case can help explain what was previously requested and which identifiers were covered.
New source information and separate customer records can create continued exposure beyond one provider's response. Rechecking does not require publishing your request correspondence or identity documents. Maintain a private log with the date, company, outcome and any next step.
Our general data-broker removal walkthrough can help organize that work. Use the opt-out guides hub to find additional official routes. A free privacy scan looks for supported public exposure and should not be treated as a view into Windfall's private database or proof of its deletion.
For a broader checklist of individual providers, use the data-broker opt-out directory.
Frequently asked questions
Why does Windfall ask for my address?
Its privacy choices page says records are organized by name and address to distinguish common names. The address therefore serves a matching purpose. Check the official domain and provide accurate details rather than guessing or using another person's address.
Does a sale opt-out also delete everything?
The choices page presents sale restrictions and deletion as separate rights. Ask for the outcome you actually want and read the response for its scope. A successful sale preference is not, by itself, evidence that every stored category was erased.
Do I need to add a phone number?
The deletion form inspected on October 1 showed a phone field without a required marker. Other matching details were required. Follow the current form and any legitimate verification follow-up; do not supply extra identifiers merely because an optional field exists.
Will Windfall contact its customers for me?
The choices page expressly limits the opt-out to Windfall's databases and excludes other companies' databases. Do not assume an individual customer's records were erased. If a particular organization is your concern, check its privacy notice and request route separately.
What if my request is declined?
Read the reason before resubmitting. A verification failure, inability to locate a record and a decision about applicable rights require different follow-up. Where available, use the appeal route identified by the notice and keep the original case reference.
Sources and public-form evidence
Windfall's privacy policy, Your Privacy Choices page and provider-linked Osano form were checked October 1, 2026. The screenshot shows address matching fields in the deletion flow. No personal data was submitted, no identity document uploaded and no processing deadline independently tested.
