DuckDuckGo vs OneRep: Data Removal Costs and Workflows
Compare DuckDuckGo and OneRep data removal: individual versus family costs, local versus managed workflows, current coverage, and privacy tradeoffs.

DuckDuckGo versus OneRep is mainly a choice between an individual privacy bundle with removal running from your device and a managed removal service with household plans.
DuckDuckGo Plus costs $99.99 a year in the US. OneRep displays Individual at $8.33 per month with annual billing, while Family covers up to six people at a displayed $15 monthly equivalent.
Choose by the sites exposing you, the number of people you want covered, and the workflow you can maintain. We checked official sources and public browser views on October 6, 2026. This comparison does not report a paid trial, measured removal speed, or successful-removal rate.

Which service fits your situation?
DuckDuckGo has a clear strength when you want its VPN, identity-theft restoration, AI access, and personal-information removal in one subscription. OneRep has a different strength: removal-specific plans, monthly exposure scans, household coverage, and Pro assistance for more complex broker requests. Neither description proves which service will remove your particular record.
| Decision | DuckDuckGo | OneRep |
|---|---|---|
| Entry offer checked | Plus: $9.99/month or $99.99/year in the US | Individual: $8.33/month displayed with annual billing |
| Household option | Removal is for the individual subscriber | Family: up to six people, $15/month displayed with annual billing |
| Higher tier | Pro: $19.99/month or $199.99/year; additional AI capacity | Individual Pro $15.95; Family Pro $29.95, annual-billing monthly equivalents |
| Coverage basis | Current supported-site list has 49 entries | Standard 317 public sites; Pro 317 public plus 559 non-public sources |
| Operating model | Matching and request initiation on the subscriber's device | Provider-managed account and recurring removal service |
| Cadence statement | Regular rescanning; no single interval asserted here | Monthly scans for new exposures on pricing cards |

For this pair, first separate the bundle benefits from the removal scope; paying more for a bundle tier does not necessarily increase the number of brokers handled.
How should you compare the prices?

DuckDuckGo's official cost page lists US Plus at $9.99 monthly or $99.99 yearly. Pro is $19.99 monthly or $199.99 yearly.
The cost page associates the Pro upgrade with AI access and limits; it does not establish expanded personal-information removal coverage.
Individual costs and billing basis
OneRep's pricing page displays $8.33 for Individual and $15.95 for Individual Pro when the annual-billing view is shown.
These are monthly equivalents of an annual purchase, not verified month-to-month prices. Compare the final annual charge shown at checkout rather than assuming a rounded card figure is the exact total.
That makes the two entry offers similar in advertised annual cost for one person, but the included services differ. If you already pay for a VPN elsewhere, DuckDuckGo's bundle value depends on whether you would actually use its other features. If you mainly want a managed removal workflow, judge OneRep against that narrower need.
Household costs
OneRep shows Family for up to six people at a $15 annual-billing monthly equivalent, and Family Pro at $29.95. DuckDuckGo's removal setup is for an individual; its help says other family members need separate subscriptions.
Six Plus annual subscriptions would total $599.94 at the checked US price, simple arithmetic rather than a household offer.
Do not interpret the number six as proof that every age or location is eligible for OneRep. Its privacy policy has a separate age-related limitation, so confirm the people you intend to enroll and the current plan conditions before purchase. A household card and a child's eligibility are different questions.
Cancellation and purchase terms
OneRep's pricing FAQ describes cancellation through Plans & Billing and a refund request within 30 days of the first purchase. The trial cards advertise five days. Check the purchase and renewal terms before entering payment details, including the charge after a trial; we did not complete checkout or verify a charged amount.
DuckDuckGo's current platform and subscription route may affect billing management. Do not assume OneRep's refund window also applies to DuckDuckGo. The DuckDuckGo removal review covers the product-specific setup and limitations in more depth.
Do the coverage counts measure the same thing?
No. DuckDuckGo's official supported-sites list currently contains 49 entries and explains that support can change. OneRep's pricing page separates 317 public people-search sites from 559 non-public brokers, for a Pro total of 876. Standard plans cover the 317 public sites.
Those are provider scope descriptions, not measured successful removals. A non-public database request differs from checking a public profile URL, and the totals do not show whether your most important exposure is covered. The recent OneRep list also changed by one public source, illustrating why a fixed count should not be treated as a lasting entitlement.
OneRep Pro advertises unlimited custom removal requests with a dedicated expert for complex cases. The pricing explanation restricts those requests to data-broker profile URLs; general websites, news stories, and social media are outside that described feature. It also says success and timing depend on the broker. Bring exact profile URLs when comparing that feature with your needs.
What work do you need to do after subscribing?
DuckDuckGo's getting-started guidance describes an individual, one-device setup and US-only removal. Its subscription is sold in additional countries, but that broader sales availability does not establish personal-information removal outside the US. On iOS, the guidance calls for Background App Refresh.
Its model suits a reader comfortable with device-based matching and background operation. That local setup is part of the product's privacy design, but it still requires the user to configure it and maintain the relevant environment. Do not purchase solely because the browser is installed; confirm that the removal feature is available and enabled for your situation.
OneRep's checked cards include monthly scans, monthly email reports, and unlimited phone numbers, addresses, and name variations. Pro adds a privacy expert and custom requests. You still need to supply accurate matching information and review uncertain records or requests for clarification; managed removal does not eliminate every user decision.
The OneRep review provides a separate product overview. If your goal is to make a few direct requests yourself, the manual broker-removal guide may be a useful starting point before choosing a paid recurring service.
How do the privacy approaches differ?
DuckDuckGo's removal privacy guidance says matching details stay on the device and requests originate there. Confirmation-email handling and support processing are separate. That supports a narrower local-matching claim, not a claim that no information ever leaves the device or reaches another service.
OneRep's privacy policy describes collecting account and matching information, including names, aliases, email addresses, phone numbers, and date of birth for removal services. It also describes service providers, retention exceptions, and website analytics or advertising processing. Review those categories according to your comfort with giving a managed service matching details.
A local workflow and a centralized managed account involve different practical tradeoffs. DuckDuckGo may appeal to someone prioritizing device-based matching; OneRep may appeal to someone prioritizing household administration and provider-managed follow-up. Neither architecture alone establishes superior removal effectiveness, and we did not test either service's security controls.
A practical choice checklist
- List the public profiles and non-public data concerns that matter to you.
- Match those concerns to the actual supported sites and plan tier.
- Count the people who need removal and check each person's eligibility.
- Compare the final billing period, total, renewal, and cancellation route.
- Decide whether you prefer maintaining local setup or sharing matching data with a managed provider.
- Keep records of unresolved profiles and distinguish pending requests from completed removals.
CrabClear is another option to evaluate through its current pricing, particularly if you want to compare a dedicated removal service's scope and geographic fit. A broader advertised broker list should not settle that decision by itself. CrabClear also cannot make independent recipients erase every copy on demand, so the same scrutiny of scope and confirmation applies.
Frequently asked questions
Is DuckDuckGo Pro a broader removal plan than Plus?
The checked cost source ties the higher tier to AI capabilities and usage. It does not verify expanded personal-information removal coverage. Buy Pro for features you need rather than assuming its higher price adds broker coverage.
Is OneRep's $8.33 price month-to-month?
The figure was displayed in the annual-billing view. It is a monthly equivalent, not a verified monthly-contract offer. Check the actual billing toggle and final annual amount before paying.
Does OneRep Pro remove news articles?
The pricing explanation says its custom requests concern data-broker sites and exclude general websites, news, and social media. A profile URL outside the standard list is not automatically an eligible custom request.
Does a larger count prove better results?
No. The counts cover different source types, and neither is a successful-removal percentage. Compare the sites relevant to you, the reporting method, and the handling of unresolved cases.
Can a family share one DuckDuckGo removal setup?
The official setup guidance describes removal for the individual subscriber and says other family members need separate subscriptions. OneRep advertises up-to-six-person plans, but you should still confirm age, location, and enrollment conditions.
Sources and verification limits
Official cost, setup, supported-site, privacy, pricing-card, and pricing-FAQ sources were checked October 6, 2026. OneRep's initial automated request was blocked; a normal browser then displayed its cards and policy. Screenshots document public evidence. We did not buy either subscription, submit personal matching information, measure removals, or independently audit the companies' security claims.
