EAB Opt Out Guide: Data Requests and School-Record Limits

To opt out of EAB or request deletion, open its official privacy policy and follow the linked Data Request Form. The form asks which right you want to exercise, which EAB program is involved, and whether you are acting for yourself or another individual. If EAB processes student information for your school, the institution may control the decision; a general privacy request does not automatically delete an academic record.

Choose the right EAB request

Start with the EAB privacy policy. It explains when the general notice applies and links to service-specific policies. Identify the program involved before choosing a route. A student platform, a recruitment service, a research membership and an EAB marketing email can involve different information and responsibilities.

EAB describes information collected directly, website usage information, and services delivered for organizations. Its policy says organizations determine uses of information where EAB works on their behalf. That distinction is the reason this guide begins with program and institution context rather than a promise to erase all education-related information.

How to complete the EAB request form

1. Identify the program and responsible organization

Find the program name on the relevant message, account, website or school communication. Note whether the information was supplied by you directly or by an institution. The EAB form specifically asks for the EAB program and, when applicable, the institution. That context helps route the request.

The general policy links to separate notices for some services. Follow the notice associated with the actual program rather than assuming a single general form describes every product's process. If you are unsure, ask privacy@eab.com which route covers the information you want addressed.

2. Open the official Data Request Form

The policy's rights-request link leads to an EAB-branded OneTrust form. The address contains a draft path segment, but the linked page rendered a public Data Request Form during our check. That path wording alone is not proof that a form is unusable; the observed page and its official-policy link are the evidence.

The EAB Data Request Form first asks whether you are submitting for yourself or another individual. Choose truthfully. Acting for someone else can require authorization; being a family member does not automatically establish every right to access or delete another person's information.

3. Select the right and complete matching fields

The inspected form offered access to specific information, a copy of information, correction, deletion and opt-out. Choose the action that matches your goal. A request to unsubscribe from mail is narrower than deletion, while a deletion request can have consequences for data used in an active service.

Visible fields included first name, last name, email, country, EAB program used, institution where applicable, collection context, and request details. The form states that a separate request should be submitted for each EAB program. Keep a separate receipt for each rather than assuming a single program request covers all products.

The request-details field asks users to avoid entering personal information there. Use designated identity fields for matching and describe the issue in general terms. A request can identify the program and action without reproducing private grades, health information, financial documents or a full student record in free text.

4. Review the identification requirement carefully

The form asks for identification showing name and current address and gives a government-issued document or utility bill as examples. It also says additional information may be requested to confirm identity and rights. This is what the form displays; it is not a recommendation to send an unrestricted identity-document copy in every situation.

If you are uncomfortable with the requested evidence, ask privacy@eab.com whether a less sensitive document or redacted copy will meet the requirement. Confirm what must remain visible and use the official secure route. Do not email unrelated document numbers simply because a generic upload control exists.

The form includes an acknowledgment, signature field and file-upload control. We did not sign or upload anything. After reviewing the current instructions, submit your own request only with accurate information and save the acknowledgment provided.

• Record the EAB program and institution concerned.
• Save the request type and date for each program.
• Keep verification instructions and any case reference privately.
• Retain the response describing what was deleted, corrected or retained.

Verification, timing and appeals

EAB's policy says it takes reasonable steps to verify identity before fulfilling a request. The form says it cannot provide information or respond to a request when it cannot confirm that the data relates to the requester. Monitor the email used in the form and respond to any legitimate follow-up through the verified channel.

We did not observe a completed request or a provider-specific universal turnaround. The policy refers to applicable legal timeframes, and appeal availability varies by jurisdiction. Ask for the applicable response date in your acknowledgment rather than assuming that every program follows an immediate or identical schedule.

If your request is denied or partly fulfilled, read the reason and ask which organization controls the remaining data. The policy provides an appeal route where applicable. Start with the current link or instructions in the decision; keep the original case reference so the appeal is tied to the correct program and action.

A no-match result is not a statement that your institution holds no information. It may mean that the chosen program or supplied identifiers did not locate EAB-held information within that request. Clarify the program and controller before sending repeated identity documents to several different teams.

The policy and form do not establish that every resident has every displayed right. Use your actual residence and circumstances. This guide describes an available process, not a legal assessment of a student's rights or the validity of an institution's retention decision.

School records, marketing and browser controls

Where EAB acts for a school or another organization, the policy says that organization determines how information is used. Contact the institution's privacy office or designated student-record contact when the issue concerns its records. Ask whether EAB is the right processor to assist and whether the institution must initiate the action.

Deleting a marketing profile is different from changing an official academic record. Do not assume an opt-out cancels enrollment, erases a transcript, withdraws an application or deletes every copy held by a school. Ask explicitly about the record and the consequences before seeking broad deletion.

For promotional email, EAB's policy describes an unsubscribe link in the message footer. Use it for communications you no longer want, but keep broader deletion or advertising requests separate. An unsubscribe confirmation does not prove that program or institution records were erased.

EAB also describes browser-based advertising choices and recognition of preference signals where required and technically feasible. Those settings concern browser or device activity. Reappearance and follow-up planning

If a later message arrives, identify its program, sender and contact address. It may concern a separate institution, an active service or a different program than the one in the earlier request. Compare that evidence with the actual confirmation before deciding the first request failed.

Preserve the program-by-program record because EAB's form explicitly asks for separate requests. A broad note saying EAB was contacted is less useful than a receipt naming the program and action. Update your notes if the team redirects you to an institution or a service-specific process.

Frequently asked questions

Does an EAB opt-out erase my school transcript?

No such outcome is established by the general form. Your institution may control the record and have its own retention obligations. Identify the exact program and record, then ask the institution how its process works before assuming a marketing-data request changes academic records.

Why does the form ask for a utility bill or ID?

The form describes identity verification and asks for a document showing name and current address. Ask the privacy team which evidence is necessary and whether redaction is accepted. The guide does not recommend sending more sensitive information than required.

Can one form cover every EAB program?

The inspected form says a separate request should be submitted for each program. Keep separate references and read each response for scope. A single confirmation should not be treated as proof that all services and institutions have acted.

Can a parent or representative submit?

The form offers a choice to act for another individual. Authorization and applicable rights still matter. Follow the current instructions and ask what authority is needed; do not imply consent or authority that you do not have.

Can a public scan check EAB's internal records?
