To opt out of Health Union's sale or sharing of personal information, use its official Your Privacy Choices page and follow the Privacy Rights Request link, or email privacy@health-union.com. Use the rights form for deletion, access, and other available requests.

Website cookie preferences and newsletter unsubscribe are separate actions. This Health Union opt out guide explains which route fits each goal and what the current public form asks for.

Last checked October 10, 2026. We inspected Health Union's choices page, privacy notice, and linked OneTrust form. We did not submit health information, a rights request, or an account action. No completed deletion was tested.

Choose the privacy action you actually need

This guide concerns Health Union, LLC at health-union.com, the online health-community business. It is not a guide to a hospital, health insurer, or another similarly named organization. Check the website and business identity before sharing details about a health-related account.

Health Union's choices page separates browser tracking, other sale/sharing disclosures, broader privacy rights, and email subscriptions. That separation is useful because you may want to keep receiving a community newsletter while restricting other data uses. Equally, stopping a newsletter does not establish that your underlying information was deleted.

The opt-out guide hub provides routes for other data holders. There is no reason to send sensitive health context to an unrelated provider simply because its name looks similar in search results.

How to submit a Health Union privacy request

Open Your Privacy Choices and follow the official Privacy Rights Request link. It leads to a OneTrust page headed Your Privacy Rights Request with Health Union branding. Following the provider's own link helps distinguish the authorized form from a copied or unrelated page.

The inspected form begins by asking whether you are requesting your own information or acting as an authorized agent. It then asks for an email address, your relationship to Health Union, and what you would like to do. These controls are marked required. The form explains that the email is for correspondence about the data request.

  • Choose the accurate requester role: yourself or an authorized agent.
  • Enter an email address connected to the relevant interaction and available for correspondence.
  • Select the relationship that describes how Health Union holds your information.
  • Choose the right you want to exercise, following any additional fields shown for that selection.
  • Review, complete any security check, submit, and retain the confirmation.

The public form warns that available rights can vary by state. Use accurate residence and relationship information wherever requested.

Do not choose an inaccurate status to obtain a different set of controls. If the form does not fit your situation, use privacy@health-union.com to ask how to proceed.

For a sale/sharing opt-out, the choices page explicitly offers that email address as an alternative. State the action clearly and identify the relevant community or interaction. Start with enough information to locate the relationship; avoid sending medical documents or a detailed diagnosis unless the provider explains a necessary and appropriate verification step.

Cookie controls and newsletter unsubscribe

The cookie option concerns automated collection on the site, browser, and device you are using. Health Union says switching off targeting cookies prevents advertising partners from placing future trackers through that choice. It also warns that the selection is specific to the current site and browsing context.

That means a setting on one browser should not be assumed to apply to another device or another community site. Review the controls where you actually browse. Changing a local cookie preference also does not prove that information previously collected by another organization has been erased.

For non-cookie information, the choices page directs users to the rights request or privacy email. It describes this broader sale/sharing opt-out separately from the browser-specific control. Read the confirmation to understand which preferences were recorded instead of assuming that a local cookie banner completed every available privacy action.

To stop newsletters, use the Unsubscribe link in a Health Union email. The choices page also gives helpdesk@health-union.com for removal from its marketing email lists.

It says non-promotional notices and responses to privacy requests may still be sent. Receiving a necessary case response therefore does not necessarily mean a marketing unsubscribe failed.

Verification and expected response time

The current privacy notice says a rights request does not require creating an account. It explains that requests through an existing password-protected account may be considered verified when they concern information associated with that account. Other situations can require additional identity checks.

The notice gives examples such as email address, mailing address, account name, or the date of a recent interaction. It says the information supplied for verification is used to verify identity and complete the request. If you cannot meet a verification requirement, ask the privacy contact about alternatives rather than sending unrelated sensitive information.

Health Union describes confirming receipt within 10 business days and responding within 45 days. It allows an additional 45 days for complexity or multiple requests when reasonably necessary, with explanation during the initial period. These are the provider's stated process terms, not a measured deletion result or an unconditional worldwide deadline.

Keep the acknowledgment, case reference, requested action, and date. If acknowledgment does not arrive within the stated window, the notice directs you to privacy@health-union.com. For later follow-up, reference the existing case and specify whether you are waiting for verification, a decision, or clarification of the data covered.

What a completed request may leave unchanged

Deletion, restriction, and unsubscribe have different effects. A final response should tell you which action was taken and identify any exceptions. Ask for clarification when a message says only that your preferences were updated but does not address a deletion request you made.

This workflow does not establish deletion of a hospital chart, pharmacy record, insurer file, or another organization's independently held information. If that is your concern, identify the actual holder and use its own process. Do not add clinical records to a marketing-related privacy request merely to demonstrate the seriousness of your concern.

An advertising or analytics partner may also hold information under a separate relationship. Health Union's response can help you understand the scope of its own action, but it should not be represented as proof of removal everywhere. Our guide to removing yourself from data brokers explains how to keep separate requests organized.

For other health-related marketing contexts, the HealthWise Data opt-out guide and DeepIntent opt-out guide describe different companies and routes. Use them only when those providers are actually relevant to your information. A shared industry does not prove a shared record.

If you also want to check publicly exposed contact details, run a free data broker scan. Public-record scanning does not inspect private medical records or verify completion of a Health Union request.

Use the data broker opt-out directory to keep any additional, identifiable providers separate from this Health Union request.

Frequently asked questions

Can I keep a newsletter while opting out of data sharing?

The choices page treats these preferences separately. A sale/sharing opt-out and an email subscription choice have different purposes. State your intended action clearly and review the provider's confirmation.

Do I need a new account to exercise rights?

The privacy notice says no. An existing account can help verify requests concerning that account, but the public rights form is available separately. Do not register for a new community simply to send a request.

Should I include my diagnosis in the request?

Do not include sensitive detail by default. Begin with the relevant account or community and the action requested. If more evidence is needed, ask why it is necessary and what safer matching information would be sufficient.

Does a cookie opt-out apply to every device?

The choices page says the cookie setting is specific to the site, browser, and device. Review the relevant controls in each browsing context. Use the broader rights route for the separate non-cookie sale/sharing request.

Can an authorized agent submit for me?

The form provides an agent option. The notice says proof of identity and permission may be required. An agent should follow that process rather than using the self-request option for somebody else.
