Lob Opt Out: Privacy Portal and Mailing Data Requests
Use Lob’s privacy portal to request deletion or opt out of audience data sales. Check mailing-address matching, verification, and sender limits.

To opt out of Lob audience data services or request deletion, use privacy.lob.com or call the privacy number in Lob’s policy. Do not send a rights request to its general privacy inbox: Lob explicitly reserves that inbox for inquiries and complaints.
The portal asks you to choose your residence and request type. For deletion, its form explains that a mailing address is needed to locate the correct records.

Use Lob Privacy Request Center as the starting point. The instructions and public evidence were checked September 13, 2026. No consumer request was submitted, so this guide reports the documented process rather than a tested removal result.
How to submit your Lob request
- Open the Privacy Request Center from Lob’s official policy. Check the country of residence before choosing a request. Our public session initially selected Germany; use your actual residence, because the available choices can vary.
- Choose the action that matches your goal. The observed portal offered deletion, access, access categories, transfer, objection to processing and correction. If a sale/sharing choice is not shown for your residence, use the policy’s privacy phone route to clarify the correct request.
- For deletion, enter the identifying details requested on the screen. The mailing-address instruction specifically says Lob uses postal information to organize its records. Include the relevant street address, city, state and postal code.
- Select your relationship with Lob accurately. Distinguish a consumer audience record from your own business account, job application or information supplied by a customer that sends mail through Lob.
- Use optional comments to specify the outcome, such as deletion plus exclusion from customer audience sourcing. The form asks you to avoid sensitive information. Review your details before submitting and retain the acknowledgement.
- Complete any explained identity check through the official case. If Lob says the data belongs to a customer-controlled workflow, ask which organization should receive the request and contact that sender separately.
Choose the scope before sending personal information
- Audience sourcing: ask to be removed from Lob services that provide customer audiences from data partners.
- Targeted advertising: request the applicable sale/sharing or advertising opt-out, separately from deleting a record.
- Deletion: identify the Lob-held personal information you want erased and ask about any retained categories.
- Postal marketing: contact a mail sender as well when that organization controls its own mailing list.
Write down the outcome you want before starting. A useful request identifies the relevant record and states whether you want a disclosure stopped, a field corrected, or stored information deleted. If several actions matter, list them separately and ask the provider to confirm the disposition of each one.
Use identifiers tied to the record rather than a large bundle of personal documents. A name alone may match another person, while an unrelated address can confuse the request. Supply the minimum accurate details needed for the particular workflow, then respond to any explained verification step.
What the provider controls
Lob’s July 6, 2026 policy describes names and addresses obtained from data partners for customer audience services. It also separates information Lob processes on behalf of customers: that processing is governed by the customer agreement. This distinction matters when a piece of mail was produced through Lob but the sender owns the list.
The portal’s broad deletion description should be read with the policy’s limits. Lob may retain information for lawful purposes and explains that requests can be restricted where other rights, service obligations or legal duties are involved. A deletion request is not a promise to erase every record in every connected organization.
The policy identifies Global Privacy Control as a way to reject or switch off optional cookies where available. That choice is browser and device specific. It should not be treated as a replacement for a postal-address audience request, because the identifiers and processing are different.
The general privacy inbox is useful for complaints or questions about a response. Lob expressly says privacy rights requests must use the designated portal or phone methods. An older guide that simply supplies a generic email can therefore send the reader to the wrong channel.
Verification and processing: what to keep
Deletion screen asks for first name, last name, email, mailing address and relationship with Lob; identity checks may follow.
No universal completion time was established from the current policy or unsubmitted form.
Retain the submission date, the contact address or form URL, the identifiers used, and any case number. Keep the provider’s acknowledgement separate from its completion response. An automatic email that says a case was received does not establish that the record was removed or that every requested action was accepted.
When the provider asks for more information, check that the message belongs to the case you opened. Ask what is missing and how to supply it securely. Do not repeatedly send unrelated documents to multiple addresses. A precise reply in the existing thread usually makes the record easier to follow.
Reappearance and follow-up checks
A different mailing address, a separate customer list or new partner data can require further matching. Keep any suppression confirmation and ask whether it prevents future use of the same identifiers.
Recheck the same record or environment first. Compare its identifying details with the request you submitted. A different email, employer, profile URL, or browser preference may explain why the later result is outside the original match. Ask the provider to clarify before describing the entire process as unsuccessful.
A practical privacy log can be brief: provider, relevant record, requested action, submission date, confirmation, and next check. Choose a reminder based on the response you receive. If no completion date is given, ask for one instead of treating a historical average or another provider’s deadline as a promise.
Connect this request to the next useful cleanup
Use the data broker opt-out list to track other providers and the opt-out topic hub to find current instructions. The broader manual data broker removal guide explains how to organize a multi-provider cleanup.
Relevant follow-up workflows are GrayHair Software’s postal-data steps, DataLab USA’s marketing-data guide, and RealSource’s database opt-out. Use each only when it matches a separate exposure; one provider’s confirmation does not serve as proof about another database.
For wider exposure checks, run a free broker scan. If recurring follow-up would help, compare the scope and cadence of services in the data removal comparison hub. A scan is a starting point, not proof that every private database was searched.
Lob opt out FAQ
Can I email Lob my deletion request?
Its current policy says rights requests should use the Privacy Request Center or listed privacy phone number. The privacy inbox is for inquiries and complaints, so do not rely on an email there as a submitted deletion request.
Why does the deletion form ask for my mailing address?
Lob says its records are organized using postal information and that it cannot locate the correct records without a mailing address. Supply the address relevant to the record, rather than unrelated financial or identity documents.
Will this stop every letter delivered to my home?
No. A sender may maintain its own list or obtain data elsewhere. Ask Lob what its response covers, and separately contact organizations sending unwanted marketing.
Is the portal’s detected country always correct?
No. Our session initially showed Germany. Check your actual residence before starting because available rights and forms may differ by jurisdiction.
Does turning off cookies delete audience records?
A browser preference controls a different activity from a matched postal-record request. Use the appropriate audience, advertising or deletion route for each concern.
Sources and verification notes
Lob Privacy Request Center and the official privacy policy were checked on September 13, 2026. Screenshots document public instructions only. Request timing, eligibility, exceptions, and identity checks remain subject to the provider’s current process.
These are practical instructions based on the cited provider material, not an individual legal assessment. If a request is denied, keep the reason and consult the relevant regulator’s official guidance for your location. Do not assume that a request available in one jurisdiction has identical terms everywhere.
