A Dstillery opt out should match the identifier you want to control. Use the Global Opt-Out on every browser to stop covered profiling, targeted advertising, automated decision-making, and sale or sharing associated with that browser. Use Dstillery's Data Subject Privacy Request portal when you also want access, deletion, correction, portability, or a hashed-email opt-out. Save both confirmations because the browser and form-based choices have different scopes.

Run a free exposure scan for a broader inventory, then use the opt-out guide hub to separate browser advertising controls from record-level requests.

Dstillery privacy choices checked August 15, 2026

Source basis: Dstillery's current Global Opt-Out and privacy-policy request instructions were checked August 15, 2026. No identifier or privacy request was submitted.

Browser, hashed-email, and deletion choices are different

Dstillery says its advertising platform generally uses pseudonymous identifiers such as browser IDs, mobile advertising IDs, IP addresses, and hashed email rather than names or postal addresses. Its Global Opt-Out controls the current browser. The portal handles a hashed-email choice and broader privacy rights. Website contact or account data can also require a portal request or privacy email.

The explanation of data brokers and advertising identifiers helps distinguish a browser choice from deletion. Stopping targeting on one browser is useful, but it does not prove that every identifier or previously disclosed copy has been erased.

Prepare for the Dstillery request

  • Open the opt-out on each browser profile before clearing cookies.
  • Pause an ad blocker if it prevents the Global Opt-Out from loading, then restore it afterward.
  • List each email address that could correspond to a hashed-email identifier.
  • Choose access, correction, deletion, portability, or opt-out precisely and provide only proportionate verification data.

How to opt out of Dstillery

  1. Open Dstillery's Global Opt-Out in the browser you want to control.
  2. Confirm the page reports that targeted advertisements from Dstillery are disabled on that browser.
  3. Repeat on other browsers and devices because the cookie choice does not move automatically.
  4. Open the Data Subject Privacy Request portal for deletion, access, correction, portability, or a hashed-email opt-out.
  5. Enter accurate identifiers, complete confirmation, and save the case reference and date.

Timing, verification, and request status

Dstillery's January 2026 policy says U.S. data subject requests are confirmed within 10 business days and receive a good-faith fulfillment attempt within 45 days. The provider may use the submitted email and other information to validate the request. Its browser page can show the opt-out state immediately, but that display should not be confused with completion of a separate deletion request.

Follow the evidence checklist in the data broker removal guide and keep browser, hashed-email, and deletion entries separate in your opt-out list.

The Global Opt-Out page can report that targeted advertisements are disabled for the current browser immediately. That is useful evidence for the browser choice, but it is not a response to a separate access or deletion request. Capture the confirmation without exposing other tabs or personal data, and record which browser profile you used. If the message is missing, disable only the blocker that prevents the provider control from loading, retry, and restore the blocker after confirming the state.

For hashed email, enter the underlying email address only in Dstillery's official privacy portal and choose opt-out. The policy says the address is pseudonymized to determine whether the corresponding hash exists and then marked as opted out. Submit another request for another address rather than assuming all addresses belong to one identity. If the provider can reasonably infer associated devices, it may extend the choice, but this should not be treated as guaranteed cross-device coverage.

A deletion or access request may involve website data, platform identifiers, or both. State the intended scope in the form so the response can be evaluated against the right record type. Dstillery says original platform data can be retained for up to 30 days before deletion or de-identification, with other retention periods for pseudonymous research data and security purposes. Do not infer that every retention category disappears at the moment the browser choice changes.

Track browser, hashed-email, and deletion requests as separate rows in a private log. Record the submission date, the identifier category without exposing the identifier, the confirmation state, and the response deadline supplied by the provider. Review each row independently because a successful browser message does not close an email or deletion case, and a deletion reply does not guarantee that a later browser profile carries the advertising preference. Save any case reference with the matching row so follow-up messages remain tied to the correct request.

Why the Dstillery opt-out may need renewal

Dstillery's browser control relies on an opt-out cookie. Deleting, blocking, or restricting cookies, switching browsers, or using another computer can remove the signal. A new email address creates a distinct hashed identifier. Recheck after cookie resets, browser changes, new devices, and professional or personal email changes.

The Eyeota opt-out guide and Quantcast opt-out guide cover similar identifier splits with different controls. Compare recurring options in the data removal service comparison when manual rechecks are difficult.
