Eyeota Opt Out Guide: Stop Audience Data Processing
Use Eyeota's browser opt-out and Data Subject Request form for browser identifiers, hashed email, access, or deletion.

An Eyeota opt out has two main parts. Use Eyeota's platform choice for browser-level advertising data, then use its Data Subject Request form if you also want access, deletion, or an opt-out tied to a hashed email address. The browser choice is specific to the browser and can be lost when its opt-out cookie is blocked or deleted. The form asks for information needed to identify and authenticate the relevant platform or business data.
Start with a free exposure scan when you need a wider inventory, then use the opt-out guide hub to handle each provider's identifiers separately.

Choose the Eyeota control that matches the identifier
Eyeota's browser choice tells its systems to stop profiling, targeted advertising, and sale or sharing associated with that browser. Its separate hashed-email option places the pseudonymous email identifier into an opt-out database. The broader data subject form can request access or deletion. These controls do not replace one another, so complete each relevant route.
The guide to what a data broker is explains why browser cookies, mobile advertising IDs, hashed email, and directly identifying contact data can require different requests. Opting out one browser does not erase customer exports or unrelated company records.
Before starting the Eyeota opt out
- List every browser and device you use for web browsing because the browser choice is not universal.
- List current and former email addresses that could have been hashed for audience matching.
- Temporarily allow the provider's choice cookie if browser blocking would prevent the opt-out mechanism from being stored.
- Use the provider form only for identifiers that belong to you and save each confirmation separately.
How to opt out of Eyeota

- Open Eyeota's official opt-out page in the browser you want to control.
- Use the platform choice mechanism and confirm that the browser opt-out was stored.
- Repeat the browser choice for other browsers and devices. Mobile apps use device-level advertising choices rather than the web cookie.
- Open the Data Subject Request form for access, deletion, or the hashed-email opt-out, and choose the exact requested action.
- Complete authentication instructions, save the response, and recheck after the published processing period.
Timing, verification, and confirmation
Eyeota asks users to allow 30 days for a data subject request. Its separate 72-hour statement applies to contact details removed from Eyeota's own marketing database, not to every platform-data request. For platform cookies, Eyeota says it will send instructions explaining how to find the relevant cookies and what is needed to authenticate the request.
Track the request using the data broker removal workflow and add each identifier to your data broker opt-out list. Keep browser and hashed-email outcomes separate.
If the platform choice does not show a successful state, check whether the browser is rejecting third-party cookies or whether an extension is blocking the choice mechanism. Eyeota warns that blocking or controlling all third-party cookies can prevent its opt-out cookie from being placed. Temporarily permit only what the official page needs, set the choice, and confirm the result before restoring stricter controls. Keep in mind that privacy software which blocks collection can still leave no readable Eyeota preference for later visits.
Use a separate form entry for each email address that could have been transformed into a hashed email identifier. A work address, former work address, and personal address create different hashes, so submitting one cannot reliably match the others. The form information is used to identify the requested platform or business data and respond to the request. If an address is no longer accessible, state it only where the official form supports a matching identifier and provide a reachable contact address for case communication.
Mobile app advertising is not controlled by the web opt-out cookie. Use the current device maker's privacy and advertising settings, and repeat the review after resetting an advertising ID or replacing a device. If you also request deletion, do not treat fewer targeted ads as proof that deletion finished. Use Eyeota's written response, the authenticated cookie instructions, and later checks of the relevant identifiers as the evidence for each request state.
Keep the confirmation page, request date, browser profile, and email address category in a private request log. Do not store the full email address in a shared screenshot or public note. This record makes it easier to distinguish a lost browser cookie from an unanswered data-rights request when you check again later.
Why an Eyeota preference can stop applying
The browser choice depends on a non-unique choice cookie. Clearing or blocking that cookie, changing browser profiles, or using another device can require another opt-out. A new email address creates a different hashed identifier and needs its own request. Save your request dates and recheck after browser resets, new devices, or contact changes.
