EasyOptOuts vs Kanary is a budget removal-service comparison with very different risk models. EasyOptOuts costs $19.99 per year and runs automated scans every four months across 200+ high-visibility sites. Kanary Core costs $250 per year and uses monthly managed scans across high-traffic exposure sources. Kanary Advanced costs $500 per year and adds broader sources, configurable weekly or daily work, custom removals, and escalation support. Official sources were checked August 12, 2026; prices and checkout terms can change.

Choose EasyOptOuts when low annual cost, a focused U.S. people-search workflow, and minimal data sharing are the priorities. Choose Kanary when you need a personalized threat model, managed review, broader source types, family add-ons, or escalation for higher-risk exposure. Their coverage figures are not directly comparable: EasyOptOuts publishes a supported-site set, while Kanary aligns work to individual risk and plan configuration.

Price and renewal comparison

EasyOptOuts price

EasyOptOuts lists one personal plan at $19.99 per year. The price includes automated opt-out requests, three scans per year, email summaries, and a 150-day money-back period. The FAQ says no family or friends plan is offered. Nonprofit and business arrangements are separate from the personal plan.

Kanary price

Kanary lists Core at $25 monthly or $250 yearly and Advanced at $50 monthly or $500 yearly. Family members receive a 50% discount at current annual pricing, which means $125 yearly for a Core family add-on and $250 for Advanced. Kanary publishes a 30-day money-back period and says members can pause or cancel.

EasyOptOuts is much cheaper for one person. Kanary is priced around managed threat assessment, broader exposure types, configurable cadence, and escalation rather than a fixed low-cost broker list. Compare final checkout totals, renewal terms, and eligibility before buying.

Coverage definitions are different

EasyOptOuts targets 200+ high-visibility data brokers and people-search sites. Its site list distinguishes directly supported, indirectly supported, and unsupported sites. The company says indirect sites depend on or redirect to another covered source, so they should not be counted as separate direct removal workflows.

Kanary does not promise one fixed broker count for every member. Core focuses on the highest-traffic exposure sources. Advanced expands to more sites, social media, search engines, AI or LLM exposure, custom removals, and escalation. Kanary’s published 68,000-site figure describes historical ecosystem monitoring and mitigation, not the number included for every account.

For the current inventory details, read the EasyOptOuts review and the

Kanary review. Keeping these definitions separate avoids treating a focused list and a personalized threat model as the same metric.

Scan cadence, removals, and reporting

EasyOptOuts workflow

EasyOptOuts says initial searches and requests can take up to two weeks. Data sources and search engines may need additional weeks to reflect removals. It then runs another scan every four months and sends an email summary after each round. The workflow is automated and designed to limit unnecessary distribution of customer identifiers.

Kanary workflow

Kanary Core uses monthly managed scans and removal requests. Advanced can add weekly or daily configurations, broader sources, unlimited custom removals under the published plan description, and escalation support. The product brief says some third-party responses take about 24 hours while others can take 90 days or more.

Neither cadence proves that a specific record will be found or removed. Data sources control their own response times and exemptions. Useful evidence includes the original listing, request status, before-and-after screenshots where provided, and a dated recheck.

Privacy, data intake, and geography

EasyOptOuts emphasizes automated requests and targeted sharing of identifiers with relevant sites. Its current personal plan is for U.S. residents. The company does not offer a consumer family plan, so each eligible person needs a separate account.

Kanary starts with basic profile information and may accept additional names, addresses, phone numbers, emails, and social handles to improve matching. Core is U.S.-only. The product brief says Advanced can support some people outside the United States, but some countries remain unsupported. Verify eligibility before checkout.

Kanary may need a member to complete CAPTCHAs, email confirmations, or identity checks. Its terms state that it cannot promise every removal and that some account or public-record changes require the member’s own action.

Which service fits which reader?

  • Choose EasyOptOuts for one U.S. resident who wants the lowest published annual price and focused recurring scans of high-visibility people-search sites.
  • Choose EasyOptOuts when a narrow supported-site model and limited information sharing matter more than custom escalation or broader exposure monitoring.
  • Choose Kanary Core when monthly managed work, result review, family discounts, and a personalized high-traffic-source plan justify the higher cost.
  • Choose Kanary Advanced when social, search, AI or LLM exposure, custom removals, incident research, or escalation support are central to the threat model.
  • Choose neither until you confirm geographic eligibility, current checkout terms, and whether the service covers the exposure types that actually matter to you.

Alternatives and manual options

Use a free CrabClear scan to inventory visible exposure before choosing a recurring service. The scan does not prove that every broker holds your data or replace provider verification.

Limitations to understand

EasyOptOuts does not support every people-search workflow and does not offer a personal family tier. Its lower price comes with a focused cadence and coverage strategy. Kanary costs substantially more and its flexible threat-model coverage is less reducible to one fixed list.

Public records, professional registries, account-owned content, and source material can be difficult or impossible for a third party to erase. Mitigation can mean changing visible contact details, deindexing a result, escalating a request, or documenting why removal is unavailable.

The Optery vs Kanary comparison provides another plan-versus-threat-model example. Read each provider’s current terms rather than carrying claims from one comparison into another.

EasyOptOuts vs Kanary FAQ

Is EasyOptOuts cheaper than Kanary?

Yes at the published personal annual prices checked August 12, 2026. EasyOptOuts is $19.99 yearly. Kanary Core is $250 yearly and Advanced is $500 yearly. The services include different coverage, cadence, support, and escalation models.

Does Kanary cover more sites than EasyOptOuts?

A direct count is not reliable. EasyOptOuts publishes 200+ high-visibility sites. Kanary personalizes sources to risk and plan, while its 68,000-site figure reflects historical ecosystem activity rather than per-account coverage.

Which service is better for families?

Kanary has the clearer family structure because it publishes 50% family-member discounts. EasyOptOuts says it does not offer a family plan, although separate low-cost personal accounts may still be economical for eligible U.S. residents.

Which service scans more often?

EasyOptOuts runs three rounds per year, described as every four months. Kanary Core scans monthly, while Advanced can use weekly or daily configurations. Frequency alone does not establish removal quality or source response time.

Can either service remove every result?

No. Providers depend on third-party processes, lawful availability, accurate matching, and member verification. Some results require the person to act directly, and some public records can only be reduced or corrected rather than erased.

Sources and update note

Official sources checked August 12, 2026: EasyOptOuts pricing, FAQ, and supported-sites pages; Kanary homepage pricing, 2026 product brief, site coverage, and terms. No private account, payment, or removal request was used. Current vendor language is reported as vendor language, not an independently measured outcome.

Recheck prices, discounts, supported sites, cadence, and geography before purchase. This comparison favors EasyOptOuts for price and focused automation, and Kanary for higher-risk customization and escalation, without flattening their unlike coverage models.
