To opt out of J.D. Power, open its official privacy choices page and choose the request that matches your relationship. Use the separate sale/sharing form for that choice, or the appropriate personal-information form to request deletion.

Survey invitations, marketing email and browser tracking have separate controls. This J.D. Power opt out guide explains which route to use and what the visible forms require.

We checked the official DSAR page through a reader and opened its linked OneTrust forms on October 27, 2026. The main site blocked our direct browser, but the linked deletion and sale/sharing forms loaded. We inspected their fields without entering personal information, accepting declarations or submitting a request. Access to a form does not establish a completed removal.

Choose the right J.D. Power request

Start at the official privacy choices page. It separates survey participants, car-buying website users, people in both groups, and people in neither group.

There is also a business-to-business route. Choose the description that is true for you. Receiving an unfamiliar marketing message is not a reason to claim that you completed a survey.

The page also separates a database sale/sharing request from a browser tracking preference. That distinction matters when your concern is a contact record rather than an advertisement in the browser you are using. A browser signal cannot, by itself, tell you whether a record associated with your email address has been deleted.

For the broader distinction between suppressing a record and reducing its visibility elsewhere, see our guide to removing yourself from data brokers.

Complete the personal-information form

Public source checked October 27, 2026. No personal information or request submitted.

The “None of the Above Apply” route opened a form for someone who is neither a survey participant nor a car website user. It offered copy, deletion, categories/purpose and correction choices. The visible identity fields were first name, last name, correspondence email and ZIP. Other relationship forms can differ, so do not copy this field list into a different workflow without checking it.

  • Return to the DSAR page and select your actual relationship with J.D. Power.
  • Choose the action you want, such as deleting matching personal information.
  • Enter the identifiers requested by that form, using an email inbox you can access.
  • Read the truthfulness declaration and the choice between acting for yourself or as an authorized agent.
  • Complete any security check yourself, then retain the acknowledgement if you submit.
  • Follow the verification email and save the final substantive response separately from the initial receipt.

The form explicitly says email validation is required and that further contact may be needed. Checking a declaration on someone else’s behalf is more than a navigation step. An agent should have the necessary authority before making that declaration. We did not accept it during our inspection.

If you do not recognize the relationship described by the form, go back. A request sent through the wrong category may omit the records you actually want addressed. For example, a business contact and a former survey participant may have different reasons to contact the privacy team. Make that context clear without attaching an unrelated identity document or a complete vehicle-purchase history.

Handle sale, sharing and contact preferences separately

J.D. Power separate sale and sharing request form checked October 27, 2026
Public source checked October 27, 2026. No personal information or request submitted.

The linked sale/share form displayed first name, last name, email, ZIP, a truthfulness declaration and a request-type choice. Its choices included opting out of sale or sharing, limiting sensitive-information use, or both. It also displayed a CAPTCHA and said the request must be validated by email. The visible option is evidence of what can be requested, not proof that every statutory right applies identically to every visitor.

Use the official linked sale/share form when that is your intended outcome. If you also want deletion, follow the relationship-specific deletion route rather than assuming one checkbox performs both actions. Keep the two request references together so you can tell which response answers which request.

The survey Do Not Contact route and newsletter unsubscribe are useful for unwanted communications. They should not be described as erasing research responses or every customer record.

If the issue began with a vehicle inquiry, consider the recipient dealership’s records too. Our FordDirect guide explains another automotive-data workflow, but its request process does not substitute for a J.D. Power request.

Verification, timing and unsuccessful requests

The inspected forms say requests are processed according to applicable law; they do not promise instant deletion. The policy describes identity verification and possible denial when verification cannot be completed.

The public contact shown on the forms is jdpowerprivacy@jdpa.com, with (866) 467-8688 extension 327. Use those published channels if you need help locating the right process.

A practical record of the request should contain the selected relationship, requested action, submission date and acknowledgement reference. Also record when you completed email verification. This makes it easier to distinguish a missing confirmation from a request that is waiting for a substantive response. Avoid sending repeated requests every day, which makes the sequence harder to track.

If no confirmation arrives, check your spam folder and the spelling of the email you supplied. If the form is inaccessible, explain the access problem through the official contact route. Do not enter identifying information into a third-party page merely because it claims to provide the same form. The linked OneTrust host is part of the official route we observed.

A response that retains some information is not automatically evidence of a failed request. Ask which categories remain, why they remain, and whether the decision applies to deletion, marketing suppression or sale/sharing. Keep the answer. This guide describes the published process and practical follow-up, not advice about your individual legal position about an individual dispute.

Check the result and other copies

J.D. Power is not simply a public people-search directory with one record URL to remove. Verification may depend on the provider’s response rather than watching a public profile disappear.

Do not treat an empty search-engine result as proof that all internal records were erased. Likewise, a continued message may concern a separate subscription or a third-party recipient.

New surveys, vehicle inquiries, changed contact details or fresh partner interactions can create additional records or permissions. Recheck the specific activity involved after the provider responds. If the same unwanted contact returns, compare the sender and identifier with your earlier request before deciding whether it is a new issue.

Vehicle-related data can also involve a dealership’s software provider. The DealerSocket opt-out guide explains why some requests need the dealership’s instructions. Keep a short list of the organizations involved rather than assuming a single automotive privacy request reaches them all.

For unrelated public broker exposure, a free privacy scan can help you identify another set of records to investigate.

A scan is a discovery step, not proof of J.D. Power coverage or deletion. Use the opt-out guide hub to find the relevant manual process for each provider you identify.

If several providers are involved, use the data broker opt-out directory to identify separate request routes. Keep the organization and outcome next to each confirmation so a response from one provider is not mistaken for completion across the whole list.

Frequently asked questions

Can I request deletion without being a survey participant?

The DSAR page includes a route for people who are neither survey participants nor car-buying website users. We verified that its form offers a deletion request. Select it only if its relationship description fits you, and complete the requested verification.

Does an email unsubscribe delete my survey information?

No deletion should be inferred from an unsubscribe. The DSAR page directs marketing-email recipients to the message’s unsubscribe link and provides separate personal-information request routes. Choose the deletion route when that is the outcome you want reviewed.

Do I need to find a public profile first?

The inspected forms did not require a public profile URL. They asked for matching identity and contact information. If you have an inquiry or survey reference, retain it for a relevant follow-up, but do not publish it or attach unrelated records.

What if the main J.D. Power page is blocked?

Our direct browser encountered a security block, while its official linked OneTrust forms were accessible. Start with the official DSAR page when possible. If it remains unavailable, use the privacy contact shown on the official form instead of an unverified replacement site.

Can a relative submit the request for me?

The personal-information form distinguishes the individual from an authorized agent. A family relationship alone does not answer whether someone has the required authority. Follow the current agent instructions and do not make the declaration without a valid basis.
