Privacy Bee vs Kanary is mainly a choice between Privacy Bee's list-based tier structure and Kanary's personalized threat-model approach. Privacy Bee publishes approximate annual-billing equivalents of $8, $18, and $67 per month across Essentials, Pro, and Signature. Kanary publishes Core at $25 monthly or $250 yearly and Advanced at $50 monthly or $500 yearly. Pricing and plan structure

Privacy Bee pricing

Privacy Bee's pricing page lists Essentials at about $8 per month when billed annually, Pro at about $18, and Signature at about $67. These are annual-billing equivalents, not necessarily month-to-month offers. Essentials focuses on people-search sources. Pro and Signature expand into additional broker and exposure categories, while the higher tiers add more analyst-led and custom-removal support.

The official page also advertises a 30-day money-back policy and discounts for multiple people or longer commitments. Check the final billed amount, renewal schedule, household rules, and included support before purchase. A low monthly equivalent can still mean paying a full annual amount upfront.

Kanary pricing

Kanary Core costs $25 per month or $250 per year. Advanced costs $50 per month or $500 per year. At the published annual rates, additional family members receive a 50% discount: $125 yearly on Core or $250 yearly on Advanced. Kanary also publishes a 30-day money-back policy and says members can cancel, pause, or switch plans.

Core and Advanced are not simply small and large broker lists. Core centers on high-traffic exposure sources with monthly managed scans and removals. Advanced adds broader source types, configurable weekly or daily monitoring, custom removals, and escalation support. Extra configurations can affect the final service scope, so verify the exact setup during signup.

Coverage: counts versus a threat model

Privacy Bee currently lists 518 people-search-related sources for Essentials, divided into 361 people-search sites and 157 affiliates. Pro and Signature list 1,119 broader sources across categories such as people search, list brokers, advertising and marketing, background checks, data enrichment, recruiting, healthcare and insurance, geolocation, and work-income verification. These figures describe Privacy Bee's own source taxonomy.

Kanary does not publish one directly comparable active broker count. It frames coverage around an individual's threat model and can consider data brokers, search results, social platforms, court records, professional registries, AI or LLM exposure, and other sources. A historical total for monitored or mitigated sites should not be treated as the number included in a current consumer plan.

That makes a raw count comparison misleading. Ask which source types matter for your current exposure, which plan includes them, whether the provider can act on custom targets, and how often those targets are rechecked. A smaller relevant set can be more useful than a large list filled with sources that do not apply to you.

Monitoring cadence and removal workflow

Privacy Bee describes a staged workflow rather than a single completion date. Its current how-it-works page outlines initial setup and scanning in the first few days, early removals over roughly 10 to 45 days, more difficult cases over 45 to 90 days, and longer monitoring over three to six months. It also describes ongoing monitoring and monthly reporting.

Kanary says Core performs monthly managed scans and removal requests for prioritized high-traffic sources. Advanced can be configured for weekly or daily monitoring and adds custom-removal and escalation workflows. Provider outreach and broker processing can still take from about 24 hours to more than 90 days, depending on the source and request.

Neither cadence means every source is checked or cleared on that exact interval. Ask whether the stated cadence applies to scans, new detections, removal submissions, status checks, or reporting. The workflow stage matters when you compare progress dashboards or decide how quickly an urgent source will receive attention.

Geography and eligibility

Kanary Core is currently limited to U.S. members. Advanced is available to some people outside the U.S., but Kanary says certain countries remain unsupported. The practical fit depends on where the person lives, where their data appears, and whether the relevant source accepts the provider's request method.

Privacy Bee's pages emphasize U.S. people-search and broader data-broker categories, but buyers should verify current country eligibility and source relevance directly. Do not infer international coverage from a large source count. Ask for the sources and legal request paths that apply to your country before committing to an annual plan.

Support, custom removals, and limits

Privacy Bee combines automation with human support, with the amount of analyst and custom-removal work increasing by tier. Its official support material also explains practical limits: public records, social platforms, and some difficult sources cannot always be removed by a privacy service. Dark-web monitoring can identify exposure but cannot erase data from every criminal dataset.

Kanary Advanced includes custom removals and escalation support beyond Core's prioritized set. Its threat-model approach can be valuable when the main concern is a specific harmful search result, social profile, professional registry, or unusual source rather than a long generic broker list. Eligibility, removal feasibility, and response times still vary by source.

Both advertise multi-person options. Kanary publishes a 50% family-member discount at current rates. Privacy Bee advertises multi-person discounts but buyers should verify the final offer.

Can people outside the U.S. use Kanary?

Core is U.S.-only. Advanced can support some users outside the U.S., but some countries are excluded. Confirm country eligibility before purchase.
