SeekOut Opt Out: Privacy Portal and Confirmation Steps
Use SeekOut’s Privacy Choices Portal to request deletion or restrict sharing. See the current fields, confirmation process and candidate-data limits.

For a SeekOut opt out, open its Privacy Choices Portal, select whether you are the individual or an authorized representative, and provide your name, email, professional profile and location. Choose deletion or the relevant privacy action, then monitor your inbox for SeekOut’s confirmation. Deletion, sale/share restrictions and limits on sensitive-information use are separate choices on the current form.

We opened the Privacy Choices Portal and its embedded request form on September 18, 2026. The form was inspected without submitting an individual’s information. Its confirmation statement describes what the provider says will happen, not an email exchange or deletion we completed.
The source page warns that deletion requests are permanent. Consider whether you want deletion, correction or another restriction before selecting an action. That warning concerns the provider’s request process; it does not establish erasure from every employer, recruiting system or public source.
Candidate database, career tools or customer account?
SeekOut’s main privacy policy describes the Candidate Database, built from publicly available and licensed professional information. Recruiters use it to find and assess potential candidates. A person can be listed without having purchased SeekOut or created a recruiting account.
The provider separately publishes a Candidate Privacy Policy for SeekOut Spot and career tools. That notice concerns candidates contacted through the recruiting service or interacting with those tools. If your concern is a specific interview, application or career-tool profile, identify that interaction in your request.
An employer’s applicant-tracking record may have its own controller and retention process. Do not assume deleting a SeekOut database entry cancels an application you submitted to a different organization. Contact that employer separately when its own records are part of your goal.
For a broader explanation, our data broker guide distinguishes collected professional records from accounts you deliberately create. The opt-out topic hub keeps the provider-specific workflows together without merging their scopes.
How to submit the SeekOut request
1. Start from the official portal
Open the portal through seekout.com rather than relying on a copied third-party form link. Its request controls load inside an embedded form. If you see only the portal heading, allow the form time to load and check whether your browser has blocked embedded content.
2. Select the correct requester role
The first question distinguishes an individual from an authorized representative. Use the individual option for your own record. An agent should expect to supply their own details and evidence of authority as well as the data subject’s information.
The policy describes written permission for agent requests and reserves the ability to verify the individual directly. The existence of an agent option does not mean another person can submit your information without your authorization.
3. Provide the profile and location details
The observed individual form marks first name, last name, email, LinkedIn profile, country and state/region code. Use an accurate professional profile URL and an email address you can monitor. Select your actual residence instead of choosing a location merely because it seems to offer a faster process.
If a required identifier is unavailable, ask privacy@seekout.com how to proceed. The form does not document one universal workaround for every missing profile or former work email. Do not create false details to satisfy a control.
4. Choose the privacy action
The portal shows choices to delete information, receive a copy, correct information, stop sale or sharing, and limit the use of sensitive personal information. Check that your choice reflects the outcome you want. A correction request is useful when the goal is accuracy rather than removal.
- Record the action or actions you selected.
- Keep the professional profile URL used for matching.
- Save your submission date and any displayed reference.
- Monitor your inbox for the stated follow-up.
- Retain the completion response or denial explanation.
The manual broker-removal checklist helps organize these steps when you are handling several recruitment databases at once.
Confirmation and identity verification
The form says SeekOut will send a confirmation message to the supplied email address after submission. It asks requesters to watch for a follow-up from privacy@seekout.com and says identity confirmation may be required. Requests that cannot be verified or confirmed may be denied.
Use an inbox you can access. If no message arrives, check spam and confirm that you entered the address accurately. A form submission, an email acknowledgement and the provider’s final response are separate stages; keep evidence of each one that actually occurs.
The inspected portal does not give one universal completion deadline. We cannot turn the existence of an email step into a promise that deletion happens immediately after clicking a link. Ask the provider for the applicable timeline if it is not stated in your correspondence.
If the portal fails, the policy also provides privacy email as a request route. Explain the problem and identify the professional record involved. Supply enough matching context to make the request usable, but do not send an unsolicited collection of sensitive documents.
What happens to inferred and archived information?
SeekOut’s main policy discusses machine-learning inferences used in its recruiting service, including optional filters involving candidate characteristics. The form’s sensitive-information limit is therefore a distinct choice worth reviewing when your concern extends beyond correcting a job title or removing a contact address.
The policy also describes retaining information for legitimate operational or legal purposes and isolating backup information when immediate deletion is not possible. These are retention qualifications, not evidence that an individual opt-out has failed. Ask the response to explain any information retained and the reason.
The Candidate Database is updated regularly from professional data sources. Keep the written outcome of your request so you can raise a specific question if a later record appears. Do not infer how the internal suppression system works from the portal alone.
Other recruiting-data services need separate requests. The RecruitBot guide, The Swarm guide and Coresignal guide describe different workflows. None is automatically completed by submitting SeekOut’s form.
How to follow up without confusing the records
When contacting the provider again, include the initial submission date, professional profile and requested action. Ask whether the request is waiting for confirmation, could not be matched, was completed, or was denied. Those categories help you decide what information to supply next.
If a recruiter still contacts you, ask which system or source it is using. A saved employer record can outlast a change to an upstream database. Where you applied for a role, consider the application’s own privacy notice rather than assuming the recruiting database owns every copy.
Review the public professional profiles you control and remove contact details you no longer want displayed. Source changes can reduce future distribution, while provider requests address the records already collected. Our RocketReach guide covers another possible professional-data source when it is relevant to your situation.
A free privacy scan can identify supported public exposure to address next. It does not certify whether a private SeekOut profile exists or whether your request was fulfilled. The provider’s written response remains the evidence for that particular workflow.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need a paid SeekOut subscription?
The public Privacy Choices Portal does not require purchasing a recruiting plan to view its request controls. It is a privacy-request route, distinct from the customer product signup flow.
Should I delete or correct my information?
Choose based on your goal. Correction is for inaccurate data; deletion asks for removal under the provider’s process. The portal warns that deletion is permanent, so do not select it merely to fix one outdated employer field.
Does unsubscribing from one recruiter remove my database profile?
An email preference with a recruiter does not establish a SeekOut database deletion. Use the provider’s privacy route for that record and handle the recruiter’s own contact preferences separately.
Can an agent request removal for me?
The form includes a representative role. The policy describes authorization evidence and possible direct identity confirmation. The agent should use the designated role and follow those instructions instead of posing as the individual.
Was the confirmation sequence tested end to end?
No personal request was submitted. The guide reports the confirmation and verification language visible on the current form. It does not claim to have received the email or measured completion time.
