DTN Opt Out: Personal Data Deletion and Privacy Requests
Use DTN’s rights form to request deletion or opt out of sale and sharing. Check verification, agricultural-data scope and record-retention limits.

To opt out of DTN, use its Data Rights Exercise Request form or the postal request route in its external privacy statement. If the form stays hidden or fails to load, the U.S. contact is DTN, LLC, ATTN: Privacy/Marketing, 2131 Lindau Lane, Suite 700, Bloomington, MN 55425. State whether you want deletion, a sale/share opt-out or another applicable right. A DTN opt out concerns personal data, not blanket deletion of every farm or business record.
We checked the official form's published content and external privacy statement on October 30, 2026. The form initially remained hidden in one browser, then rendered in a separate Chrome check. We inspected its fields without submitting it. No request was sent. The steps below distinguish the webform from the policy's alternative request route.
Identify the DTN service or dataset
DTN provides information and services across agriculture, weather, fuel and other industries. Its external privacy statement describes several types of personal data and relationships. That range makes context important when requesting deletion.
The statement includes personal data concerning landowners, farm owners, operators and growers in its FMiD context. It separately discusses Progressive Farmer contacts and business-related information. A person named in those records may have a different relationship from a subscriber using a weather application.
Write down the product, publication or interaction that prompted your request. If you do not know the dataset, say so and ask DTN to identify the relevant processing. Do not guess an account number or select a product simply because its name sounds agricultural.
| Your objective | Form choice to consider | Important distinction |
|---|---|---|
| Ask for personal-data deletion | Delete My Personal Data | Retention exceptions and product context matter |
| Stop covered sale or sharing | Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information | Different from deleting a subscription account |
| Restrict sensitive information | Limit the Disclosure or Use of My Sensitive Personal Information | Availability depends on the applicable right |
| Inspect or correct records | Access to and/or correction of My Personal Data | Access itself does not stop future processing |
| Explain another privacy concern | Other, with a specific explanation | Avoid including unrelated business secrets |
The data-broker explainer provides background on source, supplier and recipient records. The useful question is which personal data DTN holds or processes about you, rather than whether every business fact can be erased.
Open the official rights form

First check DTN's Do Not Sell My Information form. The page is titled “Data Rights Exercise Request” and supports more actions than the URL alone suggests. It links back to the external privacy statement.
Check the domain before entering information. You should be using the provider-owned dtn.com route, not a third-party service that asks for payment to submit a request on your behalf. Manual use of the published form is available without purchasing a removal subscription from us.
The published form text says it is for individuals exercising rights that may be available under applicable laws. That wording does not establish identical rights in every jurisdiction. Describe your situation accurately and let the appropriate process determine the request's scope.
If the form fails to load, use the statement's postal route. For U.S. requests, address your letter to DTN, LLC, ATTN: Privacy/Marketing, 2131 Lindau Lane, Suite 700, Bloomington, MN 55425, USA. The statement says to include your full name, preferred contact information and the nature of the request.
It also lists 1-800-485-4000 as the U.S. contact and specifically permits that number for Nevada opt-out requests. Ask for the appropriate privacy-request route if your situation differs. We did not call or mail DTN. The statement lists different regional contacts for EU/EEA, UK and Swiss individuals; use the one relevant to you rather than assuming the U.S. address is universal.
Choose the request and supply matching details
The published form content marks first name, last name, email and ZIP code as required. Telephone is displayed without the same required marker. Use an email you can monitor for verification and a location relevant to your record.
The Request Details section shows distinct choices for deletion, sale/share opt-out, sensitive-data limits, access/correction, processing objections or restrictions, transfer, consent withdrawal and other requests. Select the choices that express your objective rather than assuming the page title already selects an opt-out.
If you need to explain the record, keep the explanation specific: the relevant product, publication, account or contact relationship. A deletion request about a marketing profile should not accidentally ask the company to close a service you still need without understanding the consequences.
The published form includes an accuracy and identity-verification confirmation. Read it if the live intake loads for you. Our initial browser did not expose the form, but the later Chrome check did. We did not complete a challenge or observe any post-submission messages. Use the documented postal route if the form stays unavailable to you.
Distinguish identity checks from completion
DTN's form explicitly reserves the ability to contact you to verify identity and process the request. Be prepared to respond through a verified channel. An email asking you to confirm a request is one stage of the process, not proof that deletion has finished.
Keep the original request wording and any reference number in a private log. Record whether you asked for deletion, sale/share restrictions, access or several actions. This helps you spot a response that addresses only part of what you requested.
Do not send account passwords, payment information or confidential farm business documents unless a legitimate, specific requirement has been explained. A request should identify the person and relevant record, not disclose a complete business file by default.
If another person or service is helping you, confirm what authority is required. The fact that a public form is accessible does not mean anyone can request someone else's information without permission or verification.
What timing and retention should you expect?
DTN's California request provisions describe an effort to respond to verifiable consumer requests within 45 days, with written notice if more time is required, up to 90 days. This is a scoped policy statement, not a universal removal deadline or a result we measured.
Other request types and jurisdictions can follow different provisions. Use your acknowledgment and the current statement to track the applicable process. If the company needs more information, preserve that correspondence rather than restarting the request without context.
The privacy statement describes retaining data where necessary for services, contracts and specified purposes. It also discusses longer archiving where accounting or validation requires it. These provisions mean deletion should not be described as automatic destruction of every business-related record.
Ask for the final scope: which information was deleted or restricted, which categories were retained and why. A partial outcome may still address the marketing use that concerned you. Conversely, a generic receipt does not show that the requested action happened.
Keep public and downstream records separate
A personal-data request to DTN does not itself change an original land record, your company's own information or a recipient's independent copy. If the concern originates in a public record, investigate that source's actual correction or privacy process separately.
If your contact details also appear with other marketing-data companies, use their individual procedures. The Data Axle guide and Epsilon guide cover distinct organizations. Their presence here is not a claim that either supplied a particular DTN record.
For business-directory information, the Dun & Bradstreet guide explains another separate workflow. A business listing and personal-contact information may need different treatment even when they appear on the same page.
Future service use, subscriptions and updated source records can create new data. Keep the date and identifiers of your request so you can investigate any apparent reappearance. Do not assume that one completed request establishes indefinite suppression across every system.
Check wider public exposure if relevant
A free privacy scan can help locate public broker listings outside this DTN process. It does not audit DTN's internal agricultural or customer datasets. Use any result as a lead to investigate, and verify that the record actually belongs to you.
The opt-out guide hub provides company-specific steps for other identified records. Manual requests and recurring monitoring can complement each other, but neither should be described as a guarantee that all information disappears.
Your request checklist
- Name the DTN product or data relationship where known.
- Choose the specific privacy actions in Request Details.
- Provide accurate required identifiers and a monitored email.
- Read the verification confirmation before sending your own request.
- Retain the final response and any explained exceptions.
Frequently asked questions
Is the form only for a do-not-sell request?
No. Despite its URL, the observed form offers deletion and several other rights choices. Review the Request Details section and select the action you actually want.
Must I provide a telephone number?
The published form content lists telephone separately from the required name, email and ZIP fields. Follow the current validation and any legitimate follow-up rather than assuming an optional field is always mandatory.
Will DTN delete all information about my farm?
That is not established by the sources. The request concerns personal data and is subject to scope and retention provisions. Land, business, customer and original-source records should not be treated as one interchangeable dataset.
Does deleting data cancel a paid subscription?
Do not assume those actions are identical. Explain the account or product involved and ask how your request affects continued service. Handle billing and service termination through the applicable account process.
Can a scan prove DTN completed the request?
A public listing scan does not establish the state of DTN's internal databases. Retain the company's response and check the particular record or use you asked it to address.
Sources and verification
Last checked October 30, 2026: DTN's official Data Rights Exercise Request form and external privacy statement, including the published form fields, request categories, verification wording and regional postal contacts. The initial hidden-form rendering was resolved in a separate Chrome check; the final form and policy captures show the usable evidence. No request, challenge or account action was completed. Processing periods are described as policy statements, not tested service performance.
