Sojern Opt Out: Delete, Export and Advertising Controls
Use Sojern’s official data tool to opt out, delete or export. Understand identifier choices, verification, cookie resets and travel-partner limits.

To opt out of Sojern, use its official Opt Out, Delete, or Export Your Data page. The embedded tool offers Cookie, Mobile, Email and IP Address identifier choices. Select the relevant scope and distinguish an export from deletion and future advertising opt-out. For an incomplete request or client-controlled data, contact sojernprivacy@sojern.com using the policy's instructions.
We inspected the public page, embedded identifier chooser and current policy on October 26, 2026. No identifiers were entered, no request was sent and no deletion was measured. The guide describes available controls and the limits of what their confirmation can establish.
Decide what you want Sojern to change
Sojern's privacy materials concern travel advertising and related services. A traveler may be dealing with browser activity, a mobile identifier or information supplied through a partner. A hotel's reservation system is a separate record source from Sojern's advertising tools. Identify which relationship caused your concern before sending a broad request.
| Action | Purpose in the official instructions | What it does not prove |
|---|---|---|
| Export | Request a view of collected information | That any data was deleted |
| Delete | Request deletion, subject to validity review | Completion before review and confirmation |
| Opt Out | Stop further targeted advertising for the relevant device | Removal of every partner-held record |
| Contact privacy team | Clarify scope, unresolved requests or client data | Automatic deletion by every travel business |
If your question concerns travel transaction records rather than advertising identifiers, the ARC privacy-request guide illustrates a different travel-data workflow. A Sojern preference should not be described as cancelling a booking or erasing an airline's financial records.
Work through the identifier-based tool

Open the official page and chooser
Start with Sojern's data controls. The page describes export, deletion and opt-out actions above an embedded Right of Access area. During inspection, the embedded interface displayed Cookie, Mobile, Email and IP Address choices. Use the identifier type that matches the data you are trying to address.
Do not assume that choosing Cookie covers every other identifier. A browser on a work computer and a phone app can be separate contexts. Keep the current page open long enough to read any explanation that appears after selecting an identifier, and avoid submitting a value copied from someone else's device.
Separate existing data from future advertising
Sojern describes Delete as a request it reviews for validity before processing. Its Opt Out action concerns further targeted advertising on that device. If you want both, read and complete the relevant actions rather than assuming one button establishes both outcomes.
The tool's label or response may vary with the selected identifier. Save the exact confirmation. A request accepted for review is still different from a completed deletion. We did not test a final submission, so the presence of the tool is not proof that a request will bypass verification or anti-abuse checks.
Use privacy support if the tool is insufficient
The embedded page links the policy contact route when a request has not been adequately fulfilled. Write to sojernprivacy@sojern.com with the action, identifier type and case reference. Ask which record category was searched and what remains pending. Avoid putting a complete exported report into the subject line or an insecure public channel.
The policy says it may direct requests involving client- or partner-provided information to that client or partner. Ask for that distinction explicitly if your concern is a booking, membership or customer record. Keep the original travel business's request separate from Sojern's response.
Verification, cookie persistence and partner records
According to the Sojern privacy policy, identity verification may be required before a rights request is fulfilled. It also describes exceptions and retained information for purposes such as legal obligations, backups or fraud prevention. Do not translate a deletion confirmation into a claim that no related information can ever be retained.
Sojern's advertising opt-out uses a cookie. The policy warns that clearing cookies prevents it from reading that saved preference. Its instructions also call for action across devices. Recheck the appropriate setting after a browser reset, while keeping your earlier request record so you can distinguish a new identifier from a failed old request.
Marketing-email unsubscribe is another separate route. The policy gives mktg@sojern.com for promotional-message choices, while privacy rights use sojernprivacy@sojern.com. Sending a deletion request to an unsubscribe address may not clearly communicate the action you want. Use the privacy route for rights questions and retain administrative messages needed to follow the case.
The Semasio opt-out guide explains another cookie-based audience workflow. The Roqad guide covers identity-graph data and multiple identifier types. Neither process is evidence that Sojern or its travel partners have completed your request.
Verify the response and keep a useful record
A form submission, email acknowledgement and completed request are three different events. Save the date and the wording of the action you requested. If a response says only that a ticket was created, leave the case marked pending. Wait for a response that identifies the action actually taken and the records or identifiers it covers.
Keep this record somewhere private. It should contain the official contact route, the request type, a masked identifier and any case number. There is no need to put a full advertising ID, home address or exported data file into a public discussion. If you share a screenshot with support, remove unrelated browser tabs and information about other people.
- Record whether you requested access, deletion, an advertising opt-out or more than one action.
- Note the specific browser, device or account involved so you can repeat a check in the same context.
- Watch the reply address and spam folder for a verification message or a request for clarification.
- Save the outcome separately from the initial acknowledgement, including any exception or retained-data explanation.
When a response is incomplete, reply on the existing case with the missing scope. For example, ask whether an advertising preference was saved and whether the separate deletion request was completed. Repeated new submissions can make it harder to connect the answer to the original identifier. Keep a clear chronology instead of interpreting silence as success.
The public pages checked for this guide do not establish a measured end-to-end removal time. Do not turn an estimate for filling in a form into a promise about processing. Follow any deadline or verification window in the provider's response.
If it refuses part of your request, ask for the reason and the applicable escalation or appeal route. Availability depends on your location and the request involved.
What to check if data or targeting returns
A later advertisement does not, by itself, prove that a privacy request failed. Advertising can be contextual, delivered by a different company, or associated with another identifier. Compare the same scope before drawing a conclusion. A browser preference, an email-linked record and a mobile advertising identifier can represent different pieces of the problem.
Review the apps, websites or accounts that supplied the data as well as the receiving company's response. A request sent to one recipient does not establish what every other recipient holds. If you recognize the original publisher or service, use its own privacy settings or rights process for that relationship. Keep those case records separate so the answers remain understandable.
For named broker listings, a free data broker scan can help identify a separate public-exposure task. It is not a test of whether this provider erased a cookie, device identifier or internal audience record. Do not buy a removal subscription solely on the assumption that it covers the workflow in this guide; check the current supported sources and exclusions first.
The opt-out guide hub helps you find other provider-specific routes. Work from the companies actually connected to your information, rather than sending the same detailed identity packet to every company on a list. A targeted request is easier to verify and avoids sharing unnecessary personal details.
For another advertising-ID workflow, see the Adsquare privacy-request guide. It can help you recognize the difference between a device identifier and contact details without assuming the providers share a request process.
Frequently asked questions
Does Sojern's opt-out delete my hotel reservation?
The advertising tool does not establish deletion from the hotel's booking system. Contact the hotel or travel business about the records it controls. Ask Sojern whether your request concerns its own processing or information handled on a client's behalf.
Which identifier should I choose?
Choose the type connected to your concern. The observed tool offered Cookie, Mobile, Email and IP Address. If you cannot determine the correct type, use the policy contact route rather than submitting several unrelated identifiers and assuming that broader disclosure improves the match.
How long does deletion take?
The official page says requests are reviewed for validity before processing. Our inspection did not establish a measured completion time. Save the acknowledgement and follow any instructions in the response; an instant page message is not automatically evidence of finished deletion.
Will clearing cookies cancel the saved preference?
Sojern says it cannot read its opt-out cookie after cookies are cleared. Revisit the privacy center in the relevant browser after a reset. This does not, by itself, determine the status of a separate deletion request already being processed.
Why am I still receiving travel advertisements?
They may be contextual, associated with another device or delivered through another company. Recheck the identifier and confirmation before concluding that Sojern ignored the request. If you have evidence of an unresolved Sojern-specific record, reply through the privacy contact with that detail.
